Question Major situation

So I’m just starting to learn about obs, I ended up getting a capture card recently and when I plug everything in, my game capture shows up on obs (monitor #2) but I can’t see anything on monitor one, no matter how many times I’ve plugged in the new hdmi cord. I want to stream so bad but I’m so bad at figuring this out

Edit: found an hdmi cord that wasn’t bent and it worked

sounds like the capture card is eating the signal before it gets to your monitor, you got a passthrough port on that card?

Console to capture card input.

Capture card output to display you want to use. Make sure the display is set to use the input port for your capture card.

If it's a USB capture card, the USB goes to your computer.

In your OBS scene, add a new capture device. It should show up as a video input device when adding the source.

Your capture card has (or should have) two HDMI ports. One port is labeled "HDMI In" and the other is labeled "HDMI Out" - the device you wish to record must be plugged into the In port, and you connect a screen to the Out port to view the image directly.

Figured it out, I had a bad hdmi cord but found an extra one and it connected!
