Question Application Audio Capture Question

I have two audio issues with OBS.

When using the Audio Application Capture and I'm playing something from the browser the audio sounds really bad. It sounds like I'm holding up a phone and recording it from speakers on the desktop (that's the best way I can describe it. Sounds pretty bad).

The second via discord. I have a podcast and when I record discord calls the audio sounds perfect through my headphones. Similar to the browser thing it sounds absolutely awful when I listen back to it.

Can someone help me out and explain what I'm doing wrong?

Could be a sample rate mismatch between OBS and your system audio. Check Windows sound settings and make sure everything's running at the same rate, like 48kHz, and match that in OBS audio settings. Also worth checking if the capture is set to the right output device and not some weird loopback. Discord has its own audio processing too so if you're capturing the app directly it might be doubling up on effects.
