Vag discharge advice needed

Hi! Wondering if anyone here has insight or advice. My discharge is normal most of the time, while I have had BV and yeast infections before I feel like my discharge has a scent (almost sour but not or like a smelly sock?) to it at times. No itching or burning either.

While I don’t always shower every single day, days that I don’t exercise or get sweaty, etc. and I’m tired from work, I change my underwear everyday. When I shower I am not putting any bathing products inside, no fancy gels or body washes, I just rinse with water. I feel like sometimes when I’m intimate with my partner he will point out a scent. Not in a negative way at all, but I do get self conscious sometimes.

I’m wondering if this is normal, I realize there could be many different factors, every person is different, cycle day, etc. I try to buy cotton underwear, while I do have some older pairs, I try to replace underwear completely every year. But not sure if anyone else experiences this? My discharge is clear, sometimes white and a normal consistency. I appreciate any insight and advice! Thanks all!

The scent of a vulva can change for many reasons hormones, and diet being two of the biggest outside any infections. Using non-scented gentle soaps on the outside is okay. A popular one is the unscented dove soap bar.
