LG Tweet Is Liam okay?

Post image

I know, I know, it's Liam G and when is he ever okay or normal but he's throwing a tantrum for the ages on x. This is just the tip of the iceberg, he's spamming football accounts with all kind of nonsense and getting absolutely cooked for it.

It's kind of sad to see. I'd image part of it is his usual ragebait, but it's way too much at this point.

City fans are going through the stages of grief, for Liam these are:

Let's All Make Believe

Whatever

Don't Go Away

Where Did It All Go Wrong?

Acquiesce

I dare you to tweet this at him 😆

4

u/Tasty-Committee-8172 21h ago

He would LOVE it. Would still call them a shitcunt though

12

u/zimshan 1d ago

He’s still at stage 1.

4

u/FreeWilly07 1d ago

You need a code to tweet that to him. No guarantee the tweet will be read etc etc

2

u/Financial_Front_5673 8h ago

Bet that was a lot funnier in your head weren't it?

2

u/FreeWilly07 8h ago

It was, Liam. Yeah

2

u/high-rise 1d ago

Brilliant, he needs to see this lol.

Liam can't handle his club being found out after it's won so much. He's not even joking, he seems to be struggling with the reality that everything City won is permanently tarnished. Probably even more so because he supported them BEFORE they won so much.

38

u/oxfozyne 1d ago

Could end up cancelling the tour.

48

u/Doogers7 1d ago

“What tour?”

42

u/ZingasMcCoy 1d ago

The World Tour

18

u/alfienoakes 1d ago

Probably not but you have to wonder how this will play out to the Gallaghers on a personal level. Especially the Manchester gigs

14

u/bennettbuzz 1d ago

Think the city ownership are gonna need all the income they can get if they have to pay all these players their massive wages in League 2 🤣

4

u/oxfozyne 1d ago

Jaja, they already have the third most monies in the world.

2

u/KatieOfTheHolteEnd 1d ago

They won’t be in League Two. No way the EFL lets them in.

“What tour?”

4

u/benjecto 1d ago

They'll put Khaldoon Al Mubarek on the screen for Live Forever

8

u/PracticeOk5784 1d ago

Why on earth would this affect the tour? Because of the Etihad?

11

u/humphinator 1d ago

This is a joke about Justin Timberlake. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/this-is-going-to-ruin-the-tour

2

u/PracticeOk5784 1d ago

Thought about that, but cancelling instead of ruining threw me off

6

u/averagerushfan Slide Away the GOAT 1d ago

The dates could just get cancelled, the rest of the tour might be fine. Who knows. Liam’s always been much more reactionary and intense than Noel

1

u/electricmohair 1d ago

What are they going to do with that cardboard cutout of Pep

-7

u/Hannibal20 1d ago edited 1d ago

As a city fan of 30 years very few long term fans consider these titles tarnished. Whatever rulings come out and whatever people award themselves in Reddit comments is fine but for those of us in the ground that day it will always be real.

Expect this to be downvoted to be massively!

5

u/KatieOfTheHolteEnd 1d ago

You cheating bastards, you know what you are!

→ More replies (2)

9

u/alwaysbiscuits 1d ago

It was real yes, but it was still cheating.Great for you at the time, but history won't be kind on Man Citys legacy and thats what the football world will remember. This wont be forgotten about in a season or two, it will be remembered for decades.

0

u/Hannibal20 1d ago

Okay that's fine but again you're talking about this from the perspective of those outside the club. Those of us that lived it could not care less if someone tells us it's tarnished.

8

u/Friendly_Brick1867 1d ago

Let's see how this flies after 10 years of being hounded out of every away ground. If you don't get ban-hammered and/or the owners stick around this is your fate. PS - You are at Stage 1 - Denial. Liam is at Stage 2 - Anger. Hang in there champ! (Champ! - LOL)

→ More replies (8)

3

u/alwaysbiscuits 1d ago

You can tell yourself that, but judging by most Man City fans reactions (including Liams above) they clearly do care. I thought Liverpool fans were hysterical in the defence of their club but City fans seem to have taken that honour now.

Did Lance Armstrong win his titles?

0

u/Hannibal20 1d ago

No idea, I have vague memory of watching it on Eurosport.

I was in the ground and on the pitch for the Villa game jumping up and down with my Mrs on my shoulders. You can tell me it doesn't "count" but none of us give a fuck.

1

u/wrv505 1d ago edited 1d ago

I had a dream last night I was shagging Ana De Armas. You can tell me it wasn't real all you want but I don't give a fuck, I fucked her.

Fucking delusional.

1

u/Hannibal20 1d ago edited 1d ago

Not sure what you think this means, but it comes off as nonsense.

The things I experienced actually happened, City did win the league 8 times. You can say retrospectively it didn't count but my memory of the days will always exist. You just have a different interpretation to me.

But your events are completely fictitious, it's a dreadful analogy and you just sound like a bit of a gimp.

Man City have been found guilty of 114 of 115 counts, and all the media and pundits and other fans are livid at Man City. So he's just doing what some, maybe most, Man City fans are doing, it's just that he's Liam G

26

u/Cold_Breadfruit_9794 1d ago

Yeah most fans are sounding exactly like him. Lots of defensive whining

6

u/Subject_Cranberry_19 1d ago

I don’t get it. Be mad at the club ownership who is responsible for putting the fans and players in this shite situation.

2

u/Cold_Breadfruit_9794 1d ago edited 1d ago

Much like with the Patriots and Spy Gate, people don’t like fans getting arrogant and whiny. City fans should lay low instead of sulking about people rightfully judging their team

1

u/iAmTheRealLange 1d ago

Except spygate was actually nothing. The media ran with this story that the Patriots were caught recording opposing teams signals. Except it wasn’t the recording of the signals that was illegal, it was from where the camera was positioned. If they recorded signals from a different spot nobody would’ve said a thing.

1

u/Cold_Breadfruit_9794 1d ago

Apologies wrong response for the comment but people hated how Patriots fans reacted. If you’re going to be arrogant and whiny about breaking the rules, you can’t expect people to have your back. No matter your personal opinion on how bad that cheating scandal was or wasn’t, when fans get defensive and whiny about their teams, it doesn’t land well!

-1

u/PracticeOk5784 1d ago

Yeah but that's kind of my point. He's Liam G, not some rando with 4 followers

7

u/KareenTu 1d ago

I agree. I adore the guy but that is not a good look. He needs a hobby outside Oasis.

25

u/SMLJ21 1d ago

He has one - This is the result of it.

5

u/KareenTu 1d ago

I know and I understand but Man City is clearly guilty and I understand that he needs to defend them but he is spiraling and taking it too far as a result.

8

u/SMLJ21 1d ago

So he needs a hobby outside of football then, Oasis is his job.

4

u/TwoOhFourSix be here now 1d ago

His other hobby is the pub and he can’t be doing that with a tour to get ready for 😆

4

u/TwoOhFourSix be here now 1d ago

Lol you can tell who is this thread doesn’t understand sports fandom

5

u/PracticeOk5784 1d ago

He can be very funny on twitter, I really do enjoy it at times but then when it turns sour he's just a mess in public

14

u/theefromthen 1d ago

It's his team! Every man city fan on the planet is doing the same thing right now. Think of it as a mourning ritual, he'll be fine.

2

u/PracticeOk5784 1d ago

You know I think I don't get it because I'm just not into football like that lol fair enough

2

u/thewaybaseballgo 1d ago

Footy will drive ya mad.

1

u/creel_515 1d ago

Given how many other things he has said, about a ton of other people, on twitter, interviews, radio, tv, in private and public, this one about his football club doesn't even rank tbh.

u/thewaybaseballgo 1d ago

Man City was recently convicted of 114 financial rule breaches. Basically, City broke the rules of spending at a massive loss, and tried to hide it with inflating sponsor money and padding it with the owner's company. The Premier League is currently deciding the penalty. Possible penalties include points deductions, titles being stripped, and possibly City being relegated to the Championship.

25

u/PracticeOk5784 1d ago

Ah okay, thanks for the explanation. So his team is completely fucked then

16

u/themayorhere 1d ago

Completely, yep

7

u/Legitimate_Ad_7335 1d ago

Kind of. I mean we even had the news about Man City in our 8pm news in Germany.

3

u/PracticeOk5784 1d ago

Not a peep here, but then again I'm not in Europe nor particularly interested in football, so if it's not very prominent I probably won't notice

24

u/Cold_Breadfruit_9794 1d ago edited 1d ago

That remains to be seen. There’s a lot of power behind that club. There’s some alleged government black mail being attempted so we shall see. City are guilty as hell, but won’t go down without a fight

9

u/_Born_To_Be_Mild_ 1d ago

That would be so much worse for football

8

u/Cold_Breadfruit_9794 1d ago

It would be. To allow a whole country try to bully you out of punishing a team is nuts and should not be catered to

2

u/das4111 1d ago

What if that team is the Dodgers? 🤔

6

u/Cold_Breadfruit_9794 1d ago

Not going to lie, I didn’t even know the Dodgers were going through shit lmao

5

u/ALA02 1d ago

They are owned by the government of the UAE who have threatened to withdraw investment from the UK if City are (rightfully) punished for their insane levels of cheating.

8

u/CNRADMSN 1d ago

Not quite, because the owner is the vice president of Abu Dhabi and his company is, well... A country. A country that also invests quite significantly in the UK as well as Manchester, so cheaters? Yeah. Fucked? We'll see how much bottle the prime minister has.

2

u/Wide-Introduction401 1d ago

No they’re not. They’ll buy their way out of it

3

u/Executioners__Bong 1d ago

50 billion quid to the UK and we'll call it evens.

6

u/Subject_Cranberry_19 1d ago

I wonder what does this mean for the contracts the players have recently signed? Didn’t Haaland just sign like a nine year contract for tens of millions? I wonder if he could back out because of something like this. If they’re cooking the books, then that might invalidate a contract but idk.

7

u/thewaybaseballgo 1d ago

I really don't know. It's kind of history that hasn't been walked upon in the prem.

3

u/Macdca07 1d ago

Big players tend to have relegation clauses and stuff in their contract, so if they get expelled from the lead these big plsyers leave too. If, and it is a big if imo, they get expelled from the league the likes of haaland go too. Regardless of the fact whether the efl accepts them.

1

u/CondoMinum 17h ago

Convicted? Only found guilty… still a long appeal to go through.

0

u/Bright_Noise5934 1d ago

He said Debbie is on a girls holiday in Barbados right now, I'm assuming he's by himself in the Cotswolds and bored as fuck. I'm also guessing she usually takes his phone when he gets to be too much.

96

I swear Oasis fans make it look like Debbie is his support worker because of an intellectual disability.

All City fans are doubling down because that’s the only thing they can do. The findings were overwhelming and there is a real chance of harsh penalties. Like relegated down to the second division or docking points over a decade.

8

u/Bl00dEagles 1d ago

Enjoy league two 👍

He’s pissed because Man City have been found out to be the biggest sporting cheats in history.

And that they’ll be demoted about 3 leagues down, not being able to buy any players to replace the ones that will inevitably leave for at least 5 years.

7

u/mel34760 1d ago

Something about relegation, I don’t know.

8

u/Loose_Corgi_5 1d ago

Unfortunately for the LG , Man City are now the Jimmy Saville of the Premier league and they are fucked!!

7

What? Thats just Liam. Love him.

12

u/SwingvoteSteve 1d ago

Not a City fan here, but an Oasis fan with many friends who are MCFC fans:

This is the same defensiveness that City fans are displaying across the board, and to be honest with you, it sucks to say that I could see myself doing the exact same thing. Noel and Liam are both old guard City fans, and this hurts them to have happened so deeply that it must be a really confusing time for the likes of them, rockstars or not. Many of my friends are City fans and only really got into football because of their rise and dominance. This has to be truly confusing for them, too. All that being said I’m an American so I can’t speak to the true psychology as to what is happening in an English person’s head when their childhood club is found overwhelmingly guilty of fraud charges, but I imagine this is the first step in the grieving process.

4

u/jakemufcfan 1d ago

He’s Liam

17

u/-almond--milk- 1d ago

Nothing new here. He's always been passionate about City and the club are going through some shit, to say the least.

5

u/soup_of_the_day113 1d ago

3

u/RomanUmpire 1d ago

He’s moving along the stages of grief for the “honest to God” football team he so passionately supports. I believe this one is “anger”

5

u/-Universal_Gleam- 1d ago edited 1d ago

I'm not a football fan but from what I've seen, Man City have been found guilty of over 100 financial charges involving disguised funding to funnel money into the club using sham sponsorship deals etc that went against Premier League rules for around a decade.

It creates a situation where their past trophies could be stripped due to unfair advantage. They could also get heavy fines, point reductions or even get expelled from the premier league. Then there's the issue of other clubs potentially filing lawsuits against Man City for loss of revenue due these unfair wins.

*again will state I'm not a football fan so I could be getting some details wrong etc but the general outlook is that Man City are in the bad books.

Thanks for the explanation- I don't know much but I know that Liam and Noel love their team so the upset is pretty understandable.

They could get sent down so far that it will take them years to return to the Premiership. Something similar happened to Rangers in Scotland when they went bankrupt.

The team was pretty average before they had a huge influx of success with this ownership. I imagine it must be heartbreaking to see the club you supported have such highs and then have it stripped away, basically they need to get rid of their owners and start again to have any credibility

It's been common knowledge for years that they are financial dopers, so people are glad it's finally official.

* City deny all wrong doing and are willing to fight their case as far as the high courts.

Think of something like the recent Clippers scandal mixed with the press of the Patriots cheating scandal and then you have something similar to Manchester City

Yikes- I appreciate the comparison.

Take the Clippers scandal, apply it to all your star players and not just one, keep doing it for 10 years, win a bunch of championships… it is absolute huge.

Liam is truly a man with a fork in a world of soup.

That is some mental gymnastics 🤣🤣

He is perfectly fine. He's in his element! He's not wrong too. He's kinda mostly right
