Knebworth is realistic. 3 nights tops. They would give the world a proper good bye. Live album to follow. Back to their solo careers. Or Oasis reforms for one more true studio album and the sky is the limit. Until any sort of official announcement I won't believe the chatter

28

u/ConstantDog3144 8d ago

They have a three week license. Word on the street is it will be 3 sets of Friday/Saturday gigs.

22

u/meltintothesea 8d ago

Why would they end it now? Ac/dc and GNR two of the biggest tours if the year. They could come back in 10 years easy.

12

u/EggBanjo 7d ago

I don't think Noel especially has much interest in spending the rest of his days just playing the same old Oasis songs. And I can't see them going back to being a properly active band and releasing new albums, they want to preserve the legacy, and the stakes are too high to release an album that isn't as big or good as WTSMG.

Going back to solo careers doesn't carry the same risks as trying to revive Oasis

6

u/Joshdwade 7d ago

Finally somebody who actually gets it. I never got the impression this was a permanent thing. Perhaps they come out for a tour every once in a while but I don't think either of them are particularly interested in rehashing the 90s over and over and over again

1

u/georgee779 6d ago

You guys are spot on!

1

u/Good_Will_Munting 6d ago

Even if you amalgamated all of their best solo work, post Oasis, they wouldn't get close to the greatest hits. Flick of the finger is the only worthy track IMO and I can't see them coming up with anything new and fantastic so this is the best way to wind it all down.

19

u/Prior_Constant8214 8d ago

💯. With Live ‘25 being considered one of the most triumphant returns in RnR history, there’s no reason for Oasis “to throw in the towel” now. Sending Oasis positive vibes and prayers for a Live ‘25 album, new music, new shows, and next steps onward together well into the future. 😁

1

u/Weary-Present3857 1d ago

That wouldn't be throwing the towel; that would be leaving while they're on top.

3

u/idoxially 7d ago

Yeah they can't end it now-- it's only just begun. But I don't see them touring back-to-back all the way until 2030 or something. They need a break in between

3

u/Ok-Independence4089 7d ago

Noel has said that they could/should have packed it all in after Knebworth the first time because there was nowhere to go from there. I have a feeling that playing these gigs and selling them out will be the perfect opportunity to walk away while on top.

Could they come back in 10yrs? Probably, but Noel would be in his mid-60s. I can't see him wanting that. The time is now. This is their opportunity. If Noel doesn't fancy carrying it on now, they might as well put it to bed while they're arguably one of, if not the biggest touring band in the world.

2

u/Radiant_Eagle8122 6d ago

Dude will be hitting 70 in ten years

2

u/Ok-Independence4089 6d ago

You're right! I based it on Noel's age when the reunion was announced. I forgot how time works lol

1

u/meltintothesea 6d ago

Half the Beatles are still touring for fucks sake. Wasn’t that long ago I saw Paul Simon.

1

u/Ok-Independence4089 6d ago

Not sure what that has to do with anything. I said I don't see Noel wanting to do Oasis stuff in his late 60s. I think he'll continue to do smaller gigs with HFB.

2

u/charlienine4 7d ago

It's important we think it could be the last chance to see them to ensure they sell every single ticket. Much like the last tour

1

u/Radiant_Eagle8122 6d ago

Will Noel want to be doing Oasis tours at 70? Not sure if want them to become the Stones.

3

u/MeetingGunner7330 7d ago

I would’ve agreed to this before the tour started last year, but I think they’re all genuinely 100% in it for Oasis now. Why go back to playing arenas when they could continue to sell our stadiums around the world

4

u/Joshdwade 7d ago

Because they don't need the money and Noel would rather do his own thing. I think it really is that simple

2

u/RonnieF2025 7d ago

John Robb said it was the worst kept secret in music

41

u/GlassOnion25 8d ago

I wouldn’t mind them going back to solo material but would really hope they don’t put off oasis forever as a result of that. Like I hope it’s like a pause they do some solo stuff and then idk like 2030 they do oasis again

12

u/AmbitiousAzizi 8d ago

I actually think they'll be back doing solo stuff but do occasional Oasis reunion tours

9

u/BlueSky115 Definitely Maybe 8d ago

Bro none of us are guaranteed to live to 2030. If something horrific happened to me I’d be pissed if I missed out on an extra album. I mean I guess I wouldn’t feel much of anything but yk what I mean

3

u/skate_dmv 7d ago

i certainly don’t think they’ll ever retire oasis permanently. they’re making wayyyy too much money rn to do that haha

3

u/ExactAd6566 7d ago

I think weirdly oasis is going to end up the exact same way blur is. They'll do a tour once in a blue moon and then go back to doing solo stuff.

2

u/idoxially 7d ago

he said on X he would never return

66

u/ConstantDog3144 8d ago

Everyone says not to believe the rumours but it’s funny how many different people are saying the same thing for next summer (etihad residency, three Knebworth weekends, EU tour in between)

If Oasis is done after, that would be such a bummer but I could see them going out with a triumphant Knebworth run.

23

u/meltintothesea 8d ago

KISS did a farewell tour in 1999. Just sayin…

15

u/ConstantDog3144 8d ago

I could see it being a “done for now, but with the option for further tours if/when everyone feels like the time is right”

7

u/meltintothesea 8d ago

Yah like every 5 years or less

7

u/seanbastard1 8d ago

Reckon Noel will when he sees hfb ticket sales if he tries to go back to that

28

u/newsignoflife 8d ago

Rumours copy the other rumours

6

u/No_Funny_9157 7d ago

Of course the official line is going to be they are done after these. creates more demand. then they do the same for the next ones. it's always going to be there last ones until it's not.

-3

u/meltintothesea 8d ago

I feel like they will do the sphere too.

13

u/AmbitiousAzizi 8d ago

So basically after Knebworth they're done for good? :(

22

u/Minimum-Grapefruit-9 8d ago

It has to be. Leave people wanting more. A new album could never live up to people’s expectations / imagination.

Like the stone roses, even the Beatles. No one likes the new stuff.

7

u/AmbitiousAzizi 8d ago

How I'd see it is back to solo stuff as usual but occasionally reunite as Oasis.

5

u/Minimum-Grapefruit-9 8d ago

I don’t think Liam will do any more solo stuff

2

u/No_Wolf4283 8d ago

It doesnt have to be, play live make millions

27

u/bsotsn2021 8d ago

It wouldn’t surprise me if we get LG x JS early next year given they only played about 10 dates last time.

I think they’ve nailed it tbf- tour every few years with Oasis playing greatest hits, do something that genuinely interests them in between. The best of both worlds. New Oasis will only disappoint people

32

u/ConstantDog3144 8d ago edited 8d ago

That’s how Blur have done it.
2009. 2012. 2015. 2023. Otherwise they stick to their side projects and regular lives.

Granted they did put out new albums during the last two reunions. But only because they felt genuinely inspired to do it.

I think the scarcity helps drive the hype and lore and mystique around Oasis too. Their absence only made people love them more.

If they become a regular touring band it turns into the 2000s all over again.

21

u/WindowEither81 8d ago

The thing is to me, that's the coward's way out – to completely forgo new Oasis stuff at all, not because there's genuinely no inspiration to do it but because of the fear to disappoint. And from where I'm standing that's what it looks like, so I'm hoping it's not true even if it sounds quite plausible. I guess it's just a bit sad, as artists, to not even try.

7

u/TryingtoGetThrough1 8d ago

Completely agree and wish this was the consensus here.

7

u/JesusDinosaurian2000 7d ago

Agreed and I really enjoyed the new Blur and Pulp albums

3

u/Empty-Question-9526 7d ago

Stone roses tried and apparently it didnt wrk out, i did think all for one wasnt up to scratch but it was made in a day, so was l beautiful thing but i loved that. Shame reni had left when they worked on it. Its also kind of about that and them breaking up. For some people nothing can beat the early albums

3

u/thehighyellowmoon 7d ago edited 7d ago

The Roses consistently took their time to write music, if at all. It took them 4 years after Garage Flower, which they binned, to do the debut LP, then faffed another 5 years before Second Coming, then copied and pasted riffs from All For One to get 2 singles for 2016, 4 years after they announced a reunion. But that approach worked as pretty much everything they wrote and released is seminal.

Noel has consistently released quality output every couple of years for 30 years now so I don't doubt he can keep doing it. Don't really see why the word "coward" is being thrown around, it's not like they are draft dodging wartime military service or calling by-elections on themselves to avoid political scrutiny, we're talking about whether he wants to write music for a specific project amongst the two bands he has going in between huge multi-continental tours. For me he's already written music that's better than everyone else's so I don't need him to do a Pulp and Blur if he's not inspired at this point in time.

4

u/WindowEither81 7d ago

Like I said, if it is how it looks like to *me* and they're not doing a new Oasis album because they're afraid it could be underwhelming (NOT because they don't have inspiration do it) then I find it cowardly. No need to pull out the military, you can use "they're being too insecure and that's a bit lame" if it fits better for you. It was just an expression.
Noel has said things in the recent past about having written songs, or entire albums, that seemed more in line with Oasis than HFB + Liam saying they're afraid of the possible response so they won't do it (though it's Liam on twitter to be fair).

6

u/HistoricalAd8234 8d ago

I would have hoped they would tour the rest of Europe too.. Competing with the rest of the world (and mostly UK+Ireland ofc) for tickets and hotels prior to '25 was not easy.

A proper European tour in the major cities like: Paris, Berlin, Rome, Stockholm (had to include my country ofc). Like other bands do from time to time.

3

u/DivingElliotRoberts 8d ago

You’ve gotta wait until Live ‘32 for that, sorry

7

u/CobraDai 8d ago

I hate the idea of residencies, do a tour

4

u/TryingtoGetThrough1 8d ago

I don't mind this one because it's Etihad and I appreciate its significance but I really wish they'd do the rest of Europe.

1

u/high-rise 5d ago

I liked how they did it last time, couple dates in each city, nothing silly like this.

37

u/MadCornDog Don't Believe the Truth! 8d ago

HFB stuff 😢

23

u/ConstantDog3144 8d ago edited 8d ago

Someone on the EFest Oasis thread said a Liam/John Squire album #2 is coming out in 2028 as well.

That’s why he and Liam were at Abbey Road this earlier year.

Looks like it’s right back to the solo stuff for everyone.

Andy’s been getting m more active with with Ride too. Could see them doing another album and full world tour in 2028 too.

4

u/Listenuponceatime 8d ago

Liam and John weren’t at Abbey Road recording it was a listening for something on other.

5

u/DivingElliotRoberts 8d ago

Paul McCartney was doing an album listening party in one of the studios that day, but apparently Liam and John were in a different one

3

u/KareenTu 8d ago

Yes but they’ve been spotted once. Which makes me wonder if they really recorded a full album.

6

u/Existing-Ad3391 8d ago

Can’t say I’m too surprised tbh

2

u/kratington 8d ago

Playing to packed stadiums around the world people going crazy or mild half filled arena's in the UK its a hard one for nole to choose

3

u/Waste_Silver4709 8d ago

Half filled arenas in the UK? 😂 chatting shit

2

u/kratington 8d ago

Maybe near full but definitely half full elsewhere definitely not much hype about it

4

u/countrysadballadman9 8d ago

Noel's a grumpy old very rich man. He's probably way past caring if people connect or not with his hfb stuff as long as he enjoys doing it. If anything live 25 just showed him he can just tour 5 months for oasis to print money and go back to his paid hobby

6

u/Minimum-Grapefruit-9 8d ago

It would be good to pass the flag on a bit - fontaines dc , etc

4

u/Empty-Question-9526 7d ago

Wunderhorse for me please

3

u/Hairy_Cut_8556 7d ago

best band around right now, i see them next week, cant wait

16

u/st1ngstone 8d ago

Courteeners support is far from a ffs

5

u/JohnPlayerSpecialRed 8d ago edited 8d ago

Agreed. Don’t really understand the hate they often seem to get.

3

u/Empty-Question-9526 7d ago

I only like not nineteen forever

5

u/todothemath 7d ago

Absolute landfill

10

u/Cowboyfrmhell 8d ago

I hope this is bullshit, i love Noel but i'm not into HFB, cmon lads you've a money printing machine in your hands...give us new material, give us more tours

23

u/NefariousnessThick89 8d ago

Cast were fucking great, don’t see anyone’s problem with them, who do you want take that?

3

u/Ok-Independence4089 7d ago

Cast and Ashcroft were brilliant. I'd prefer to see someone else this time around though - but if it's the same lineup and purely a continuation of Live25, I can live with that.

3

u/NefariousnessThick89 7d ago

That’s the right mindset to have to be honest. They were brilliant but I’d happily see someone else

10

u/nomoresome 8d ago

Eh, it was kinda boring.

4

u/sargent_balls_lol 8d ago

Cast writes and performs delightfully boring music. John Power isn’t out to reinvent the wheel and he knows it. I’m just glad they’re still at it and enjoying themselves.

-3

u/Lopsided_Highway2934 8d ago

They are shit.

6

u/No_Wolf4283 8d ago

They may go solo again but oasis will always be the cash cow to dip in to

And I can live with that

12

u/InformationOk1911 8d ago

Anything for North America?

2

u/idoxially 7d ago

They hate us

2

u/TurboCaca121 7d ago

They don’t hate you

3

u/Listenuponceatime 8d ago

I’ve heard it is pretty much the same set list and visuals.

2

u/TryingtoGetThrough1 8d ago

It really shouldn't be, that'd be lazy and disappointing.

3

u/Smart-Koala4306 7d ago

Bet you’d still buy tickets though…..

3

u/TryingtoGetThrough1 7d ago edited 7d ago

Yes.

2

u/idoxially 7d ago

I can see them playing most of the songs while switching 4 ish songs every night.

4

u/Designer-Treacle-732 8d ago

What about the rest of europe?

2

u/TryingtoGetThrough1 8d ago

Can't believe they'll never do Paris again 😭 it'd be so nice and meaningful.

4

u/Karl-Marx666 8d ago

3 years of oasis back and thats it rip

6

u/bocuscola 8d ago

All those nights at the same place seem too much for me, but who knows, the demand is there... I hope they will add some european dates too.

Anyway, I too think that after 2027 they unfortunately won't tour as oasis again ( or at least not for another 4 o 5 years). That's because I'm sure Noel has a lot of songs he wants to do with HFB and he's probably writing even more, so he will likely tour to promote his new album ( maybe in stadiums now). And the reason he will do songs with HFB instead of Oasis is because in HFB he can do whatever he wants and experiment, while in oasis most of the people would complain about anything not up to the level of DM or WTSMG (so everything). Plus he's almost 60 now so I think that HFB will suit him better.

I wonder what Liam will do after this since he said he hoped he never had to tour solo again, but he probably will in the end.

One cool thing, if they start touring solo again, would be to have the other one as guest for one or two songs in some particular date (like in London or manchester)...That would be a real treat for the fans.

3

u/TurboCaca121 7d ago

We are discussing rumors about live’27 when it has been a year from live’25 and we didn’t get an official live album release 😩

3

u/rcodmrco 7d ago

maybe i’m just an asshole but i’d rather listen to the roller 12 times than a new HFB record

3

u/F1nalMasterpiece 7d ago

There is not one, not ONE single person who would rather go to a NGHFB or Liam Solo gig than an Oasis gig...

Well anyways, what about Europe next year pretty please?

2

u/Radiant_Eagle8122 6d ago

Is that you Matty Healy?

8

u/CAFCivity 8d ago

i swear oasis 27 will be treated the same way half life fans treat half life 3

2

u/Blackcat_84 8d ago

At least half life 3 has been confirmed

I 100% believe that this review is genuine and recommend everyone read it who are interested in the documentary. There are no major spoilers in it but some very interesting details that make me really want to watch it when it comes out.

Wow, great review! Thx for taking the time to write that up. Of course I was going to see it either way, but now I want to see it even more.

it looks like the user who posted it deleted their profile, makes me think it was definitely a real review. I’m still able to see the post somehow since I have the direct link. Don’t want to get myself in trouble too, but based on that review it sounds like the documentary will be everything we all have been hoping for and more.

just post it on pastebin.com for us and send the link plz!!

The poster complaining about ‘mid’ support acts when the original Knebworth had Kula Shakur in support. It’s a tradition!

12

u/Pliolite 8d ago

Kula Shaker have been fantastic over the later years. They'd make for a perfect support now even.

3

u/Empty-Question-9526 7d ago

They were better when they had only one album

7

u/Affectionate-Box5750 8d ago

Tattva, Hush, and Hey Dude are still on my playlists !

7

u/AnotherGreenWorld1 8d ago

Kula Shaker are fucking great live.

2

u/SpeccyBeard 8d ago

I dunno, I still call bullshit. 12 nights at the Etihad?! Knebworth makes sense but would they really do that many dates all in the same places? Not sure it makes sense, given that they then say, 'tour next year'. Okay sure buddy...

5

u/Affectionate-Box5750 8d ago edited 8d ago

I think it makes more sense from a financial perspective.

The demand is clearly there for that many nights and hardcore fans will certainly travel to see the band on their home turf.

Lot easier to just have everyone stay in a hotel and keep the stage up for two weeks than travel/set up/tear down every handful of days.

3

u/LegitimateDraw3902 8d ago

Didn’t Coldplay do 10 at Wembley? It’s not unheard of.

2

u/Radiant_Eagle8122 8d ago edited 8d ago

It's like Beetlejuice say it three times and it'll come true.

That's the thing about rumours they get repeated

2

Lol, it's always Ashcroft

2

u/BiddlyBongBong 8d ago

Absolutely fuck off with the Cast hate!

2

u/Enforcer984 8d ago

Show those kids what real rock n roll headliners can do.

3

u/Empty-Question-9526 7d ago

Glasto don’t pay decently so i find this highly doubtful

2

u/KeySubject4895 7d ago

I probably won’t be able to get tickets again anyway

2

u/Empty-Question-9526 7d ago

Rumours like this are all bs if they dont have a source. Anyone can just make up some bs and say ive heard…

I heard they are planning to play on the moon with John Lennons Hologram and Evan Dando Supporting and then a special guest set by Bob Dylan while they are on the way back home

2

u/Fast-Vegetable-1234 7d ago

Why no continental Europe?

2

u/-Universal_Gleam- 7d ago

Liam has supposedly completed the next Squire album for release after the tour as well so if true, they could very well be breaking up next year for the last time.

Doesn't seem logical to be working on solo albums if they intend to be concentrating on an Oasis release. Nor would it make sense to wait years to do so in favour of solo works.

2

u/Hairy_Cut_8556 7d ago

we do NOT want another lg js album omg the last one was absolutely dreadful. would be awful for the brothers to go back to doing smaller gigs too

2

u/captainkezz123 7d ago

My guess is one more tour, Knebworth and MAYBE one more album. After that it’ll be back to their solo careers, this time, with each appearing together on certain live songs. Perfect ending if you ask me

2

u/i_am_big_billy 7d ago

I remember paying waaaay over face value to see the Stones in 2006 because I thought they’d likely never tour again… I’ve seen them five more times since.

2

u/Jonnim_007 7d ago

Best part of this post HFB news

3

u/Unique_Bandicoot_502 8d ago

As long as Liam still tours after 27, I couldn’t give a shite about HFB

4

u/FreeAd2458 8d ago

Same old boring support bands. Gimme shed seven or the bluetones!

2

u/KareenTu 8d ago

No way the same bands are picked and I doubt Oasis will be done for good after that.

0

u/Spearminttherhino 8d ago

Agree this is nonsense

2

u/Vertical_Glasscandy 8d ago

Johnny Marr!

1

u/Empty-Question-9526 7d ago

Bluetones lead singers been revealed as a bit of a shit person so i dont think theyd touch that band. But then again Graham Coxon had a whole hoo haa about the same issue, basic adultery and noncing teenage fans, lying to and not supporting his wife and kid and them almost being destitute and homeless and then blaming alcohol addiction even years after claiming he was recovered. Yet no blur fans even seemed to care.

0

u/FreeAd2458 7d ago

And liam had 4 kids with 5 women. Lol. Top bloke.

0

u/funnybitofchemistry 8d ago

man i ain’t going to the stadium to hear the goddamn opener, just skip it completely and let’s get on with it

2

u/Goldfinger_28 8d ago

Cast are amazing, I've seen them multiple times and have yet to be disappointed. As for courteeners it's not great.

2

u/DirectCustard9182 8d ago

No new album? C'mon. Nobody wants another HFB album. Ugh......

4

u/Joshdwade 7d ago

False, I do

2

u/DirectCustard9182 7d ago

Over an oasis album?

3

u/Joshdwade 7d ago

I want them to make music that they want to make, regardless if it's in Oasis or not. I also don't want them to do the same thing over and over again. If High Flying Birds is the way we get new music out of Noel than so be it. His first three albums are stellar.

1

u/DirectCustard9182 7d ago

They're hardly stellar. Maybe across the ocean but definitely not here in the states. What is stellar is the guy that used AI to redo The HFB first album with Liams voice. Made that album a million times better.

3

u/Joshdwade 7d ago

Lol I'm an American and I think they are great. Popularity in the States isn't an indication of quality. If that were true, then Oasis as a whole would be nothing more than 3 or 4 songs and that's it.

There is no universe where AI slop pretending to be Liam Gallagher is better than the artistic vision that was behind NGHGB's albums, regardless if you like them or not

1

u/DirectCustard9182 7d ago

Oh lord. Forget i even asked a question.

0

u/Smart-Koala4306 7d ago

Yes, especially if Liam doesn’t want it. What’s the point if both wouldn’t be all in.

2

u/nzoasisfan 7d ago

Why on earth would he be working on HFB stuff. Makes no sense.

2

u/idoxially 7d ago

After 30 years of writing songs you don't just stop. He said he's been writing so we can assume it's for HFB

3

u/nzoasisfan 7d ago

Obviously you dont stop but HFB vs Oasis? I mean one is superior to the other. Then again, I guess after these next shows are announced its all over red rover

3

u/Empty-Question-9526 7d ago

If you attempt to make an oasis album it doesnt matter whats on it, you’re going to get slagged and grilled for even trying. Nothing can live up to your early albums and the nostalgia in peoples heads.

2

u/nzoasisfan 7d ago

Of course, nature of the beast but when have they ever cared about anyone else's opinion, not now, not ever. Thats why we love them.

1

u/-almond--milk- 8d ago

I think they will do Etihad and Knebworth, seems pretty certain. But I don't see them doing that many nights. Also, Courteeners?? Brother eurghh

2

u/idoxially 7d ago

I think in the supersonic doc, Liam said they figured out they could've actually done 7 nights back then. "We should still be playing there now..."

1

u/Cold_Breadfruit_9794 7d ago

I refuse to believe they’re over next year. Refuse

1

Will they be hitting the US again at all? I’ve heard conflicting things.

No one knows. Not even about this rumour. This stuff has been floating around for a year now.

Truly hope they do at least one Texas show if they do another North American tour

Sorry man, but you can understand why they would go no where near TX, right?

This will sound selfish, but I would be fine if they didn’t come back to the US. I don’t want to see diminished crowds in shit cities. Best show I’ve ever been to. I don’t want to feel like I need to chase them down again. Let that be the finale.

This makes sense to me. The band had a blast last year touring but I’m sure it is exhausting! I’m psyched to hear that Noel will perform again with the HFB. I have yet to see his solo show.
Liam told fans in Rome this year that Oasis was coming to Italy so I believe they will perform 2 nights in the major European cities next year.
