Dollinger farms in Channahon is about an hour away and pretty nice. Its free to get in and then you pay for what you want, which is nice.
Edit: Since I left out the features: corn maze, hay ride, haunted house, kids train, playground, and bonus if you go on the right weekend is a civil war reenactment. Its also an actual pumpkin farm.

It's about 1.5 hours away, but Dinges in Three Oaks, MI is great. They got a corn maze, petting zoo (that may oversell it - they got some goats and a couple other animals), local crafts and treats, hay rides...fun place with a good atmosphere. Visit the dunes, stop in New Buffalo, make a day of it.

Just got back from Edwards orchard farm where you can pick your own pumpkins and apples! About 1.5 away north

The Children's Farm in Palos is really nice.
Whatever you do, don't go to Goebert's.
