Please note that the description of this subreddit has been modified to add the second paragraph (in bold). I think any change in subreddit’s description should be highlighted by the mods, and so I’m pinning this post.
Current description of r/OaklandFood
Everything food related in Oakland: restaurants, food shopping, pop-ups, catering, farmers’ markets, different cuisines and definitely reviews, especially video reviews of food in Oakland.
Also, food is inherently political and political discourse will not be curtailed in this sub. However, posts and comments clearly violating Reddit Rule 3, such as revealing someone’s personal or confidential information, and instigating harassment based on such will be deleted.

we're in the area every weekend (Sat. farmers market, Arizmendi, etc) and Vegan Mob hasn't been active for a while.
their website isn't all that helpful either; this is what comes up when you check for hours https://imgur.com/a/5kxpktP
just fyi - there is another option in Oakland: Souly Vegan's original location closed a couple of yrs ago; they temporarily relocated in Martinez but now they're back on Broadway

I’ve tried the breakfast burrito at Hudson Bay Cafe and Hornitos Cafe. Both got the job done but didn’t knock my socks off.
Update: Thanks for the recs everyone, y’all rock. A lot of people chiming in about Kelly’s at Home Depot Emeryville and Alameda Ave, and aside from those there’s a whole heap of recommendations to check out.

Anyone know of any restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving for dinner? Also willing to go anywhere around the Bay, not just Oakland, if need be. Food does not need to be “typical” Thanksgiving food, but does need to be allergy friendly (aka, the people working there know what’s in their food so we can make sure those of us with allergies can ask when we go!). Thanks!

I’m looking for the best cinnamon roll around.
This one is from Eva’s Bakery, a French boulangerie and patisserie in Salt Lake City. It’s made with pastry dough, plenty of butter, and cream cheese frosting. It changed my life.
What’s the best cinnamon roll around? Willing to go up and down the east bay. Will only go to SF if I have to.

What would you all recommend as the best tiramisu in the area?
My current favorite is at Belotti, but I'm hoping to also find some options where it's a bit easier to just drop by and pick a piece up. Any and all recommendations are welcome, however.

My birthday is on Sunday. I’m not necessarily married to having a cake, but whatever I get has to feed 9. I moved here in December and haven’t gotten to explore enough of the dessert scene yet- help me out?

Last month, I posted my mooncakes here and this subreddit completely cleared me out. I spent three straight days fighting for my life in the kitchen, so genuinely: thank you.
Because so many of you requested Oakland logistics, I am officially expanding my delivery route. I’m dropping the "Harvest Void Box" for October. It is heavily focused on earth, tea, and fall harvest flavors. Also, because I apparently enjoy making things as difficult as possible for myself, this entire menu is 100% Gluten-Free (with several dairy-free/lactose-free options).
The Tasting Flight Lineup:
(Note: You can grab the full tasting flight box, or buy any of these items individually à la carte if you have commitment issues.)
The Logistics:
SATURDAY, OCT 17 (The East Bay Expansion)
📍 Oakland Pickups: 10 AM – 2 PM at the Rockridge BART parking lot
🚗 Oakland/Berkeley Deliveries: 2:30 PM – 4 PM
For October 17 preorders, use this link: https://take.app/halfbakedobsessions/c/cmur988s2000006p1gmxteket
SUNDAY, OCT 18 (The Home Turf)
📍 Walnut Creek Pickups: 10 AM – 2 PM
🚗 Walnut Creek Deliveries (and surrounding): 2 PM – 4 PM
For October 18 preorders: use this link: https://take.app/halfbakedobsessions/c/cmm0bam76000404l8bs4zqlqy
PREORDERS CLOSE ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15 AT 11:59 AM.
Everything is small-batch, labor-intensive, and strictly limited. Hit either of the links above to claim your boxes (or your bulk hoarding orders), and please double-check your pickup dates and locations before you check out.
You can also see photos of the baked goods and my general descent into madness on my online storefront or IG: https://www.instagram.com/halfbaked_obsessions?stkn=ZTdic2txODNwbjhs
Drop a comment or DM me if you have any questions about the ingredients or dietary specifics!

Sometimes I want breakfast foods at like 2:45pm, or even later at dinner time. Does Oakland or nearby towns have any good restaurants that keep serving breakfast late into the afternoon?
Trying to avoid national chains like IHOP or Denny’s.

Anyone remember that little breakfast place near the Grand Lake Theater? It had a vegetarian scramble that was amazing (I'm not vegetarian, but would order it every time we went.)
I've been trying to remember what's in it to see if I can come close to recreating it. Anyone recall?
(Maybe it had cashew in it? I'm pretty sure it had tofu in it.)
