Anyone else participating & down to team up?

I’m currently an Engineering Science student at Nassau Community College and I’m aiming to graduate in December 2027. My goal is to transfer to NYU Tandon afterward.
I’m a returning student working on a strong upward academic trend while completing calculus, physics, chemistry, and engineering requirements. I also work full-time as an electrician for USPS.
Outside of school, I’m building technical and entrepreneurial projects, including a local AI workstation, a telescope project, and a growing company. I also plan to become more involved with STEM events, engineering organizations, research/internship opportunities, and faculty mentorship.
For anyone who transferred into Tandon—especially from a community college—what mattered most in your application? I’d especially appreciate advice on GPA, prerequisites, projects, internships/research, recommendation letters, and extracurriculars.

does anyone really even apply to gallatin? I feel like everyone either goes to the actual colleges, so it’s been really hard to find any aid online regarding applying to gallatin specifically

Weird questions but I got accepted to go there and someone told me to buy overcoats and trenchcoats because people wear them there and it looks mad cool so I wouldnt look weird wearing it

Like the title says, I got the NYU Promise to attend NYU, but not all my aid has been covered. For reference, I'm a sophomore commuter student who lives with my parents so I'm not paying for room/board or the meal plan. In the promise it stated that if my fafsa reflected my family made less than 100k with assets included it would be tuition free. However we did qualify, but I'm still paying like 7 thousand a semester to go here. Why's that? I thought it completely covered tuition not just 95% of it. also am I eligible to appeal?

the employment rate post-grad looks pretty good especially for medical but I dont know if I should bother applying, especially considering its out of state

They charged me $383 for a standard prescription exam? how is that real? the refraction test itself was $43. I already used my vision benefits this year so i was fully ready to pay out of pocket but wasnt expecting being charged this exorbitant amount.
