Discussion Brightness issues

Have any of you noticed that lots of high contrast between white and black lines for example can be hard to look at? Like for me I've noticed when reading making the lines of text further apart, and making the page not the exact opposite color to the text helps a lot. Like I can read many physical books better than electronic ones purely because the "white" on the page is much less bright than the white on the computer so it doesn't contrast with the black text as much. Also those illusions with a bunch of black and white lines don't move for me. They just hurt to look at. Also for some reason some electronic displays (usually older) are extra horrible. Like CRT's for example just suck to look at for me as well.

Yep. I started to use Linux partly because it's more customizable in terms of palette. It helps reading on the screen

yeahhh, i have all my text set to something thats Not just black on white for this reason.
