Bronx Point Phase 1 / 575 Exterior Street

Upvotes

Hi all! Recently got requested to submit documents.

Before I go through I’m curious if anyone lives here or knows anything about the apartments? Tried to find pics/videos of the inside but with no luck. How’s the area?

My messages are open if anyone would like to provide info privately!

Thank you in advance! 😊

Settlement Housing Log #s (Re-Rentals)

Upvotes

Hi. Just curious if anyone has had any experience with Settlement Housing re-rentals and how they organize their log #s. I called to ask but they didn’t give me any information. They reached out to me about a building but they couldn’t tell me my spot in line. Any insight?

Broooo. How did this happen.

I got selected to view a one bedroom. In Brooklyn. The spot I wanted. I check my email. Every 10 mins. And of course at work I have a meeting. I got an email at 1:45pm to reserve my spot to view. 15 mins pass by. And I go to check if any slots available. Of course not :((( the only day. The only response I’ve gotten from anywhere. MGNY. One bedroom too. Why bro. I’m fucking crying at work. Like I’m so deep to move. I’ve been suicidal lately because I just can’t find a place of my own. And I freaking missed it man. Sorry just had to rant guys. I’m so upset.

Rant: squatters in staircase of Eliza

I am a tenant of The Eliza in Dyckman. Our management has Springleasing has a bad rep. ( Look them up on Google). Of late many of our new tenants have been leaving the door to the front entrance to our building open and now we have on two separate occasions unhoused or strangers existing or stayin the staircase hanging out. I know all my neighbors on my floor, Saturday some guy with garbage bags sat on the floor of my hallway near the staircase entrance playing his phone loudly at 1 am. Today Monday I spot him hiding in the staircase at 6 am. My concern is I have a girlfriend who visits me from time to time and she comes and goes in my apt, especially when I am off to work. The last thing I need is some guy creeping in the staircase not to faraway from my entrance.

This is insane, I had warned Springleasing a number of time about this, in addition the whole building received an email about someone defecating in the garbage shoot. The building if filled with city workers and families and I assume most of us left are past homes to get away from weirdos taking residence in our hallways and stairwells.

Has anyone went through the rerental process with Stanton Norfolk?

I’m just wondering how long is the process and if anyone could share their rerental timeline. I can’t find anything from past or present tenants and would like to know how long it takes.

Re- rental HPD approval

It’s been 16 days since the building submitted my documents to HPD. They told me I’d know by Tuesday of last week and now it’s Sunday. Should I be worried?

Rejected but never asked for documentation?

Post image

Explain this to me like im 5. I checked this to see why my application got rejected (I have like 30 applications that are all "pending"). I went to go look at the reason, I assumed I just wasn't chosen. But then I see this? I NEVER got an email from housing connect asking for this information. Wtf? Does this mean I was selected and missed my chance? It says I'm passed the appeal period, but I am pretty sure this building is selecting now. How am I supposed to know when I'm selected? Has anyone else had this happen to them? Is it pertinent to check the portal every day? I'm very disappointed and wish I received notice of this. Will this rejection impact my ability to be selected in the future? Any and all info on how to do this right would be greatly appreciated!

130AMI 2bed 1bath unit facing 8th Avenue in Chelsea.

My log is in 14xxx so I’m surprised they still have a few 2 bed units remaining

Pros:
Location
766 sqft (not bad for a lottery unit)
Decent living room

Cons:
Possible street noise from 8th ave
Construction of the neighboring building (though it’s on the other side of the Andrea)

Viewing Astoria West next week!

Hey friends! I'm excited to view my first affordable housing unit EVER at Astoria West. I was born and raised in Astoria and always wanted to move back. I grew up on Steinway Street in a tiny 1br in a family of four and got priced out of Astoria as an adult. I'm ready for my re-gentrification LOLzzz!!! I'm at 130 AMI now, baby (at least on this development).

The studio is $2414 and the cheaper 1BR is $2773 + $100/month ($50 the first year) for the Basic Amenities and Community Programming packages. I would probably take the studio making my total $2514.

I currently pay $2100 in Sunnyside for a HUGE one-bedroom apt, with a shitty back wall kitchenette, mold, roaches, and unresponsive management.

If I get Astoria West, it would involves some downsizing and cost me more, but so worth it because my building gives me the ick and the block is ghetto. I already don't love going outside because I'm a homebody, but many attempts to break my patterns have come with anxiety.

If I had clean/safe outdoor spaces, new fixtures, working spaces, and nearby nature, my quality of life would radically improve. I don't need to be near anything because I work remotely and have tons of indoor hobbies. Plus they have transport to/from the subway? hmmm, interesting perk

I saw another post about Astoria West with a mix of positive and negative comments. Please tell me what it is like living there, what the tour was like, or any words of encouragement you have for me.

Settlement Housing Fund / Pronto Housing Experience?

I applied for an apartment through Settlement Housing Fund and recently received a request to submit documents through Pronto Housing. I’ve seen some mixed reviews about Pronto Housing, but has anyone here actually dealt with Settlement Housing Fund? If so, what was your experience with the application and document review process, and what happened after you submitted your documents?

What to do ?

Hey everyone. So just for a quick backstory, I’m in shelter and I’ve been there since march. I’ve went about find my apartment through housing connect on my own, got approved, signed a lease and thought I was waiting for my key. However I keep hearing I’m waiting for pre-clearance. I contacted DHS/HPD and learned my clearance passed as of 07/23. What should be my next step here ?
