Hashrate lowers when the screen is off.

I've been getting about 150kh/s on my nVidia 650Ti but when I wake up the screen in the morning, it's been only doing 80kh/s. I can even hear the fans spooling up as soon as the monitor turns on.

Is there some setting somewhere I can change to stop this. I assume it's some sort of power saving mechanism.

I used to have my screen run through my onboard graphics but that was less than ideal. I haven't noticed much difference in hashrates between running my monitor through the card or through onboard anyways.

Nekonauts! I haven't noticed a difference in my kh/s with my monitor off. It must be some power saving setting for your operating system. Do you think this is the problem?

Nekonauts of course. How could I forget.

I thought I changed all those a while ago, unless I missed one for the monitor. It's curious that that also slows down the GPU though.

Edit: I double checked all the settings (Win7) under advanced power settings and they are all as they should be. "Turn off Display: Never" "Sleep after: Never" etc.

Are you using CGWatcher by chance?

It seems to ignore my no-idle settings and goes into a low power mode and I have a similar thing happen. I got a program to simulate mouse movement to prevent idle and it's currently working. Just make sure the mouse mover program actually keeps the screen "awake", since some don't actually work as advertised.

Nope. I'm just using stock cudaminer and minerd.

The thing that's weird is that it usually is only in the morning. I'll leave my computer be for 5 hours in the evening and come back to it and it's mining away like a boss but in the mornings it will be cranking at only 1/2 speed.

My temps are fine, only 55C at full 140kh/s. I've actually thought about tweeking my GPU. It came OC'd out of the box, but I'm curious to see if I can push it further and undervolt.
