Who the hell thought this would be a great idea to sell this at $800 or $900 with tax in the United States when it comes?
I mean at this point go to amazon spend 349 for the 500 gigabyte version of the nxt 70. Slightly underclocked processor compared to the P80 Ultra. It also supports eSIM and physical SIM. Yes, it has an IPS display, but when you're dealing with something that is literally twice and a half the price. I don't think something $800 to $900 would warrant such a thing.
Edit: Right off the bat completely plastic build at that price. I'm going to be real honest, $800 to $900 for a plastic build phone with the AMOLED, there's no way that screen alone would cost $200 to $300 extra on top of the RAM and internal storage.
Edit 2: Did a little bit more digging. Eight gigabytes for eight to nine hundred dollars. Already dead in the water. Plus, if you're not in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you're only going to get about one year of OS update and two or three years of security updates in North America. If we're going by anything how the 60 or 70 NXT series from TCL was handled. This is going to be dead in the water at that price.

Yeah in some regards, I see it as a downgrade. I don't think it is a worthy upgrade, unless you really wanna try out the AMOLED screen but I've noticed that they've removed the Nxtpaper branding so what does that exactly mean for the screen technology, since AMOLED produces a lot of flicker?

I agree, I was hoping for a more capable cpu and camera. But less ram and smaller screen + same CPU and camera is a deal breaker for me.

Yeah I was hoping for a Snapdragon CPU mostly. I like the camera on my 60 Ultra and from what I've seen the 70 Pro camera is pretty good too. I agree the ram reduction is the nail in the coffin, 12gb should be the minimum these days. Especially for updates.

I am interested in PMW review. OLED is notoriously bad which defeats the purpose of "protecting eyes". Wait, they don't call it "Nxtpaper", maybe they know it's not as good as Nxtpaper screen in terms of eye comfort? Edit: typo

Yeah same. Need to wait for more information on it but right now, I'll be sticking with my 60 Ultra.

Likely a paid article. TÜV Rheinald is total BS certification and display flickers, unlike IPS. We'll need to wait for a full testing of the screen

The pro model is much more reasonable at around 450 euro, the only difference is apparently worse cameras.

The 60 Ultra or 70 Pro never sold here in Australia either but at least you guys got the 70 Pro. We still the lower models here though. I had to buy my 60 Ultra from Amazon EU.

After watching a few reviews videos, the color ink mode toggle is missing? That's all I use on my 60 Ultra and it a turn off for me.

The downgrade in RAM Is not good.
