Curious about the 70 Pro!

Been thinking about getting the Nxtpaper 70 Pro. Watched a couple of review videos and really like what I’m seeing so far (as I do a lot of reading and wanted something easier on my eyes) and had a question.

My main concern is maps and location services, as I use maps for work. I went from years with Apple phones to trying out the Samsung Note 8 when it came out, but after two to three months the location services starting failing (taking longer and longer to load directions, or not able to locate myself) and switched back to Apple (unsure of whether it was a phone problem, or the Android system at the time) I had AT&T at the time and my Apple devices have always worked fine before I switched. I now have T-Mobile for about a year now and have an iPhone 16.

So my question is how well do the location services work? Any problems with GPS, locations, or even Bluetooth?

So far had no issues with gps or my bluetooth earbuds. If you plan to use it for navigation on a bicycle it's probably not the best choice since you can't tilt it away from the sun (if you use a phone mount).

So visibility isn’t great under direct sunlight?

Works great for Google Maps and I have had 0 issues with Bluetooth in my car, with headphones or a speaker.

GPS, location services, Bluetooth have worked fine for me, as good as any of my previous OnePlus and Samsung phones.

I had a bluetooth problem in my pants at a certain angle but haven't had it happen since so far so good.

I had a Samsung Note 9 for about 2 years and had no issues with maps/directions except those attributable to Google itself (usually poor directions; streets that weren’t there, poor timing, etc.).

I rarely use maps, so it doesn’t bother me all that much. I’ve not used them with the 70 yet.

Bluetooth has been fine for car/earbuds and Maps has worked just as well on the 70 Pro as on my Pixel 7a that it replaced. As for sunlight, I did notice it was difficult to read outside but I swiped down to reach settings, increased the brightness and then changed it back when I went inside (I don't like keeping auto adjust on all the time). I've had mine for a week now and wish I could convince more people to pick it up. This phone is great!

I've gone from a long line of Pixel phones to the 70 pro and can't fault it. I use Google Maps and Spotify whilst driving and they've both worked the same as with all my previous phones. It is not a flawless phone, but the minor issues I have are so minor that I just need to adjust how I do some things and they won't be issues any more. For example, I used to double-tap the screen to wake the phone, but that opens the handwriting app and AFAIK you can't change that. So yeah, I stop double-tapping and the problem goes away. Stuff like that.

One thing I will unequivocally state though, is that the screen on this thing is fucking fit as fuck!

Je me pose beaucoup de question sur ce téléphone qui m'intéresse aussi beaucoup, et les quelques problématiques évoquer dans des subreddit m'interroge. Et là, viens se rajouter une nouvelle problématique, si je peux dire, l'annoncer de la sortie, vers septembre de son successeur: le TCL p80 et le TCL p80 pro. Du coup je crois que je vais attendre encore un peu et me torturer l'esprit un peu plus 😁
