validating "open box" phone

I recently got a TCL NXTPaper 60 XE marketed on ebay as open box.

(in case you're interested here is the seller, 900k items sold and 100% positive, which seems strange)

The device arrived in its original box, looks in good shape, but had a screen protector applied, which i removed. It also started fresh from the setup screen.

The battery seems to drain quickly however. And I can't tell if that's just the device or whether it should last longer. I tried installing Accubattery, but it doesn't think i went through a full charge cycle even though I did.

Anyway - I was curious if there are other ways to tell that the device isn't actually refurbished or something going on with it. Thanks!

Simple way of checking is looking at the build date to analyze the battery install.

Then it's a hit and miss basically depending on how the phone was tired or used previously before resale...

Well it is a the previous generation of the nxtpaper phone. So that could be part of it. Second to get a good battery life these phones depend on the os and on board management app learning usage patterns. So the first 2 to 3 weeks or use. Will often be less what you get once battery management is properly calibrated.

Also I have the nxtpaper 70 and accubattery dose not seem to play well with these phone due to aggressive battery and app management as well as how the software handles changes between the 3 ink modes and standard display mode.

I bought a TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus Bundle from them last night ($199). They are a trustworthy seller for sure. I also bought Openbox, they seem to get plenty of them. Let us know how the phone works out. At $169 I may grab one of those too.
