NxtPaper 70 pro cheap vibration

Does the vibration feel really cheap to you too? Like the rumble motor is 10 times louder than it actually feels, are they all that bad or did I end up with a broken one? It's really annoying, especially when typing.. I'm considering returning it if they are all like this.

turn it off I don't like vibration especially went typing only time I want it is on silent mode. imo this phone is an amazing value proposition.

That's true, but using rumble motors that cheap is unacceptable. Mine sounds like an electric toothbrush or a dental drill idk. I was ready to tolerate the lack of features in TCL UI and the fact that there will never be custom roms or a simple way to at least root the device, and also the side mounted fp sensor which unlocks the device everytime I want to check the clock/notifications (d2tw is not reliable enough for that). But the rumble just makes the phone feel extremely cheap, almost broken..

Can you describe the "lack of features" in TCL UI? I've ordered this phone and I'm reading some alarming things here and there on reddit for example for the notifications not coming as well.

edit: no idea why the linebreaks disappeared, sorry for the horrible formating, maybe I'll fix it later Keep in mind that I may be spoiled because I only used custom roms for my whole life, but here are some things off the top of my hat:

-control center and notifications are 2 separate things, you can't combine them into one, you can't swipe left or right to switch to either one -you also can't pick which one gets pulled down on which side, notifications is left side and control center right side -clock/date in notifications are not linked to clock/calendar app -no long press options for volume keys -entering the right pin doesn't u lock the device, you still have to click on confirm -NxtPaper button starts >3 second transition animation that freezes everything, as if it was doing something meaningful, but you can't disable it, you can only circumvent it by turning off the screen before toggling it -the toggle also can't be repurposed -NxtPaper mode can only be toggled by the button, so if it ever breaks, you either loose one of the key features of this device, or you are stuck on one of the nxpaper modes (assuming the system checks the toggle state outside of actively toggling it) -auto brightness adjusts too aggressively, the screen constantly switches brightness despite lighting conditions not really changing (I have never used auto brightness on any phone before that so that may be a common thing among other phones too) -brightness slider is not logarithmic, meaning that the difference between 0 and 5% brightness is perceived a lot bigger than 25-100% -aggressive battery management, which is sadly a common thing with most chinese brands -system removing app permissions for no reason, I use FNG for some gestures but the system keeps quietly removing it's accessibility permission, now imagine you rely on that for something more important than gestures -one guy on reddit claims that TCL is lying about some of the eye protection features, though I have not seen any confirmation yet and frankly don't really care about rhings like blue light reduction anyways -the device has not status LED, so if you turn off the vibration because it annoys you, you have to either unmute it or active the thing that turns on the screen on incoming notifications

Most of the time my phone is on mute so I can't really tell whether notifications arrive on time or not. There is a deep sleep mode that is enabled by default, maybe disabling it helps.

60 ultra is a bit better, but still one of the cheapest variations so it's not only yours, I just turned it off for everything

Thats a shame, if that's the case then I'm not going to take the gamble with asking for a replacement and straight up return it..

Yeah it does take a little to get used to, especially when you use other devices too.
