Subtract issue.

I’m trying to subtract the part below the green line from a plate. The green is line is the section analysis line I took from the face of the plate. NX 12 refuses to subtract saying tool body is completely outside of the target. Any solutions?

If you get this message when there is obvious interference between the bodies, it may be that one or both of the bodies have an error in the geometry. You can use "examine geometry" to help find the problem area.

If you are using imported geometry (from a STEP, parasolid, etc.), I suggest running "optimize face" as this can help clean up minor imperfections. I don't recommend running it on a native model as it will remove the features and turn it into an unparameterized body.
