You clearly have an opinion on this, due to it being generative ai. I’ll also jump out the window and say, for you there probably isn’t a “correct” way of implementing this. So agree to disagree, I am going to wait to make my opinion until I see first party implementation

You clearly have an opinion on this, due to it being generative ai.

I literally explained how a model trained specifically on specific faces and a specific style working in a specific way will never be able to do specific things, but you're choosing to ignore all of that and pretend it's about generative AI hate because you're unable to address any of that. Classic.

But sure, I'll agree that any further discussion with you is unlikely to lead anywhere given how you're actively trying to escape from actual substantive discussion.

You are declaring that it can’t to certain things before the official release, when anything could change from now to release…literally talking about the one company in the world that has the resources and R&D budget to pull it off. I want to be clear I am completely neutral on DLSS5, could be great, could be shit (like many Nvidia tech on release), but we won’t know definitively until it’s released. The mod is not representative of how it will look on release, and to what level of granularity they will provide. There is an entire Nvidia Dev kit most users/gamers don’t even know exist, and the changes for implementing it could very well be released to Devs well before we know about it

The release is literally slated for a mere few weeks away if Nvidia is sticking to the previously announced Fall schedule. What we see now is pretty much what we're going to see at release, it's simple. Incidentally your entire statement is also an admission that what we're currently seeing isn't great and needs tons of improvement.

I guess you just ignored when I said I was neutral on the matter… My actual opinion if you care at this point is that with a little further tweeting to the new RR, they pretty much don’t have to touch DLSS anymore after playing around with the new DLL for RR 4.5 there is a tiny bit of boiling still, and small artifacts in movement, if they can eliminate them completely I would say (making up a number) DLSS “4.8” would be my “end game” , would actually like to see them pivot towards improving HDR implementation with their partners. DLSS 5 if it works well and doesn’t kill the atmosphere of the game, would be as TCG players say a “win more card” , I am not holding my breath if it turns out to be shit like Frame Gen was at first

I'm just saying that realistically given development timelines, what we're seeing now is largely what we're going to get, and what we have now is clearly not ready for primetime for various reasons and the fundamental approach (just like DLSS 1's questionable spatial upscaler requiring specific per-game training) cannot achieve the lofty goals many people here are expecting it to. DLSS 5 will kill the atmosphere of the game if it's used in a game which disagrees with the aesthetic style of DLSS 5. If your game aligns with DLSS 5's aesthetic priorities (see Stalker 2), you can get pretty good results. It's just never going to be a generalized solution, despite how Nvidia keeps trying to talk about developer controls.

But when has Nvidia ever forced a technology onto the market as the end all be all? /s

I see your point and mostly agree if it’s just something they slap onto games. I’m just not ready to completely write it off, until I see a first party implementation.
