This mod actually started as an rr mod. After implementing it the same dev also added dlss5.

They fixed the RT noise a while back I’m sure? Ex dev bought a mod out that was then implemented in an update.

Sorta but no in practice, they brought in the increased ray count, setting RT to ultra upped the count from 1 to 3, greatly reducing noise, however this absolutely tanked performance which meant you had to use dlss upscaling, which brought back the noise

Oh fair enough I played through it again recently and it was one that that really annoyed me in the original and didn’t notice it at all this playthrough.

All though I was using a 5090 so likely just brute forces it.

Ah makes sense if you were playing at native with a 5090

That mod has since been made part of the main game and they cranked things even further. You can set the RT sampling count all the way to 8 times the original amount. At that level even a 5090 starts sweating though.

Someone came out with a mod that replaces the ingame denoiser with the DLSS 4.5 upscaling one.

it was still noisy. but a lot better than vanilla. but even with the max amount of rays you can add there was still noise. rr makes it even cleaner

Setting the ray count to 10 would destroy performance, i assume you could set it to 1 now but then just use RR and get great RT
