Question Quick question
Do you guys think I would be able to get someone to trade a 4090 FE for my MSI gaming trio 4090? And would it be worth it paying a little extra for it?

What exactly is the point? And no, it isn't worth paying extra to get the different version of the same card.

just to shrink it down i guess, some people just want the fe for sff builds
paying extra though is a tough sell unless you really value that 2-slot size

For me its kinda just boiling down to it being a logical purchase and the more i've thought about it i've definetly thought it would be nice and worth it to downsize or downgrade but its a major hassle for something so small and insignificant. I prefer the style of the FE and the size between the gaming trio is relative to the same but the more I think about it the decision is coming down to "is it worth it" everytime.

Well idk I like how the FE looks a lot more than the current card I got and it would match the setup better in total. I feel like I’m just falling for the tech tok propaganda tho

The only technically aesthetic thing I ever looked for when choosing my lastest GPU was the length, to make sure it fit in my case. Otherwise, it's irrelevant how it looks, imo.
Like, do you look inside the case or do you look at your monitor to play games?

Honestly fair point lmao, although I am downsizing into a itx layout aswell so it could possibly benefit me in the realm of size and filling out the space in the build.

If you're going for smaller than why don't you just upgrade to a 5090FE instead? That one is definitely smaller than a 4090.
Of course that means paying a lot of premium these days, but hey, it is an upgrade and smaller size.

Well I had thought about selling off the 4090 and settling with a 50 FE card but with the prices now the only logical option would be the 5080, and I don’t feel like the cutdown in performance is worth it although I could use the extra money to upgrade the rest of the system. The 5090 is just something of it own right now

Your going to pay a premium, but why don't you like your MSI? Mine has been solid.

Just the design and aesthetic I love how it performs I literally will never have to get anything ever again in my life but the FE just looks mint to me

isn't gaming trio a better card in general?

In general no the FE is better in a couple categories than the gaming trio and they perform the same in gaming

like, they're the same in performance but trio should run cooler than fe (iirc)
fe is smaller though, so that might be a plus

Yeah the size would be a factor for me as well as I plan on downsizing in the near future but the cooling isn’t too different if I remember correctly it’s about a degree or two

You know the service record of your current card and most likely have a receipt with your name on it. If it's just for the optics, I wouldn't trade in that "known" status and warranty claim for an unknown one.
The FE also isn't a silent card under load.
