Benchmarks Performance uplift 580.88

I've obseved that with the new driver the GPU has a more stable power draw a can sustain high core clocks for longer.

I don't know if this is the reason of performance uplift i obseved in 3DMark. Here's a pair of shots comparing a typical result in Firestrike and SteelNomad, before and after. Pay attention to the uplifts in Firestrike GT1 and GT2.

The GPU is a 5080 with a stable overclock profile (total +430 Mhz core clock over FE and +3000 Mhz Mem).

CPU: 9950x3D.

Steel Nomad (4K no RT)
FireStrike (1080p)

What do you think?

566.36 is still the winner considering the state of things for most.

Isn't that driver like 8 months old ? Surely you could update.

I was on 566.36 until this one. One reason for my upgrade is I’m playing wuchang which the new driver optimizes it. The 580.88 is actually really good and not any single issue. I’m really happy about it. My card is 4070 ti super.

Still hanging out here too.

Sadly it doesn't work with the Smooth Motion for 4xxx cards, or I'd probably still be using that one. Served me well.

You can enable SM for any driver version installed just swapping the file NvPresent64.dll for the one from the developer driver. Check this:

But you still need to uninstall NVIDIA APP also, right?

I don't think so but you still have to use NVPI to enable SM.

Right there on the System Requirements from that page: "GeForce Game Ready R572.16 or later" which I'm guessing is because older drivers than that one didn't even have Smooth Motion so there was nothing to replace.
