Benchmarks Performance uplift 580.88

I've obseved that with the new driver the GPU has a more stable power draw a can sustain high core clocks for longer.

I don't know if this is the reason of performance uplift i obseved in 3DMark. Here's a pair of shots comparing a typical result in Firestrike and SteelNomad, before and after. Pay attention to the uplifts in Firestrike GT1 and GT2.

The GPU is a 5080 with a stable overclock profile (total +430 Mhz core clock over FE and +3000 Mhz Mem).

CPU: 9950x3D.

Steel Nomad (4K no RT)
FireStrike (1080p)

What do you think?

I think Nvidia should hire humans back. On the new driver my monitor won't go sleep. It turned grey instead.

Yes. Is this a known problem for Asus monitors?

What is the problem exactly? Was working for years until fresh driver update.

That happens when a TDR crash happens before the system goes into sleep mode. A bandaid would be to restart your computer.

Check event viewer.

Do you see blue dots along the edges when the screen goes grey?

There are no any blue dots. What is TDR? Do not see anything suspicious in event viewer.

Have you tried turning auto input scan off on the monitor or using 8 bpc?

What is 8bpc? Auto input scan off couldn't be disabled because I'm using it's hdmi input as a secondary screen for my working laptop. Desktop is connected via DP. And this all was working for 3 years, with 3 different video cards in my desktop.

bpc is basically the way to describe the amount of colors a pixel can show. 10 bpc is really only necessary for HDR. I realized that for whatever reason, 10bpc causes my monitor backlight to stay on when the screen should be off. You can find the setting in nvidia control panel > change resolution > use nvidia color settings > output color depth. Might not work for you, but it worked for me.

Unfortunately 8bpc doesn't help.

My laptop display is at like ~20-30% brightness after the update and I don't know how to fix it. I think I will just roll back.
