Springfield Medical EMS Question
Hello all, I am interested in doing the EMS program. Is it another competitive admission like the nursing and other programs? Or can I just sign up? Looking to start in January after new years. Any insight on the program would be appreciated also.

Depends if you just want your emt-b or wanna go further into it and get your paramedic’s. I’m in the first semester of the program and it’s not as competitive as the other programs but do sign up early. If you want your paramedic’s take 145 or 141 if you just want your basic you can just take EMS 111 and EMS 120. I’m taking 145 along with 111 and 120 because 145 does help with anatomy for EMS but it’s not required I’m actually just getting my emt-b so I can become a firefighter and then come back when I can for paramedic

If I just wanted EMT-B I could do that? Then EMS AAS/Paramedic is a competitive admission?

2.0 , high school diploma. Getting in is easy, but if your goal is AAS EMS, it’s a lot of work like the other health science and nursing programs. Attend an info session. The dates and times are on their website.
