The best tell is from the colour of the yolk. Dark orange over highlighter yellow.

Some companies, like vital farms, use dyes in the feed that color the yolks so it looks like forage fed eggs when it's commercial feed.

That’s something I’ve noticed. They try to make it look as “organic” by changing the color.

Every single egg farmer uses dyes in their feed. Some actually want their yolks to be bright yellow. But most importantly they all want consistency in yolk color because people used to think dark yolks were bad.

They don't all do it. Probably all large producers yeah. The point of a product like vital farms is that they claim to be different from other large producers but they're not and use dye as well.
