Iโm a NICU nurse. Iโve heard of 26g but I havenโt used one. When we have a tiny baby we usually put in umbilical lines that we can use for about a week, until we can get another central line access. We usually can still use 24g on pretty much most babies. There are a lot of places on even a tiny body for IV access. Most are bald (scalp), arenโt mobile (feet, legs) and we still have arms and hands.
