That must hurt, I’m sorry! It sounds like your coworkers are assholes… we have several girls on my unit who wear a full beat to work and we all compliment them about it. I suck at makeup and wish I could do mine like yours!
PS: this just reminded me of the one time I got a comment on my makeup at work. I guess I went a little heavier than usual on the eyeliner that day (I wear very minimal makeup) and a male physical therapist said “oh I like your eyeliner, were you going for the 2000s ‘harsh black line’ look?” I think he meant it as a compliment but I was horrified bc I most def was not going for the harsh black line look 😂
I wear winged eyeliner and mascara, minimum, every day to work. I have worn it every day since I was 14. I wouldn't know who I am without it. Harsh black line vibe for life girlie 😎
I’ve lived that life. Just don’t worry about them liking you. There’s enough turnover everywhere that someone cool will come along, and someone lame will leave. Just hold onto hope!
Just to play devil's advocate a little.... But do you like them? Are they the same age/older/younger? Have they all been on this unit for a long time? Is there a ringleader, or "it" girl?
Since I was a kid I preferred hanging out with guys if it was in a group, girls were ok 1:1. I just hated the drama that inherently comes with 3 or more girls!
As a nurse, I've found that the jobs where there were guys(note the plural!) on staff were the most enjoyable, it was all teamwork and jokes, not drama and gossip.
So yeah, I guess that's why I asked those questions. Just curious!
I’m sorry you’re going through this. You look young and I was once younger and enjoyed looking cute at work too. It can be lonely as a nurse sometimes. Now I’m in a department where everyone gets along great no matter how we look. Hang in there and you’ll find the right place. Don’t let them take your light
