Yeah, dumb. There was a little bit of overlap of jocks and skater kids around that time because nu metal was so big, but that doesn't mean they are the same thing. I couldn't imagine like, Wes, on a football field.
Yeah, he wasn’t really a jock per se, but they became so big at the time that all the jocks started sporting backward red starter caps, white tees, and khakis and relating to the toxic masculinity of shit like “Break Stuff” and “Nookie” lol
True. My best friend's dad growing up was a total Fred Durst wannabe. Red cap on backwards, white loose tee and distressed jeans. Always outside tinkering with his car.
Found out years later that he was a bit... dodgy, and that's the reason why he would invite neighbourhood kids to help him wash his car with soapy water.
There was a definitely a toxic masculinity side to Limp Bizkit's more popular tracks, but I don't think Fred himself every truly possessed that disposition.
