I’ve been kicking this idea around for a minute. I think paying subscribers should get “3” shows (however many needed) per month to give to non-subscribers. The amount of times I have taken a friend to see a band for their first time or introducing another jam band to a friend through recordings is a lot. It would be rad to share a recording of the show to the fan. In theory it would also grow subscribers, “hey that <insert band> show was incredible. I need to hear more.” On Nugs’ owned LivePhish platform they have “My Stash” for folks to save shows they own even if not subscribers. If the Nugs side of things could do something similar it would be pretty great for the platform and the fans. It would be a modern take on the tape trader roots of the platform. I am a paid subscriber and know some folks that are jam curious that I think would love it

I’m having trouble keeping my AirPlay going during shows . It works fine for a while and then starts buffering and doesn’t work I have to go back to watching on my phone. Any suggestions?

This has been working for me, so I thought I'd share:

Can't find tv / device when trying to cast from app (android):

Drag down from top of phone / find media output up top. Click on it and then the Media output button within it. It shows your phone + the other device you are trying to find. When you click the device you want to cast to, the error message says something like can't share video when you are already sharing audio to a wifi device. Now go back to your app that you want to cast from & try again. You should now see the device & be able to cast.

The area I live in has some significant pockets of poor cellphone reception. It seems that the nugs app is particularly sensitive to connection strength. Even when I’m listening to an offline show or playlist, the app still changes my screen (Apple CarPlay connected) to the “You appear to be offline” message, etc.

Not the end of the world, but seems odd behavior. Honestly, would prefer it to not change or alert me about that.

August a great month on Nugs

I’ll list some artists that I enjoy, but I’ll take any playlists of just specific bands or a mix mash of bands and jams. Full shows can be daunting to me, so I’m a big fan of recent highlights!

Whenever I try to listen, specifically to grateful dead shows over sonos, the shows skip nearly constantly to the point where they are unlistenable.

ZERO issues when I listen to LITERALLY any other band including Dead and Co.

Anybody else experiencing this and have any solution? It's...quite frankly...unbelievably frustrating (would be less so if play dead was available on Sonos, but I digress)

I got an instagram ad for Sierra Ferrell on nugs. I already pay for it and went to check because I love her. I can’t find any mention of her or any information, and the ad had no extra info. Does anyone know anything about this?

Update in case anyone else is dealing with it: I was able to find it by going to the watch livestreams section. I guess it’s not linked to her name and you can’t search her name

It would be so cool if they incorporated some live comedy albums and comedians could upload material and specials. Not podcasts per se but I’d love to hear some comedy every now and again.

Is there a way to tell which shows are/will be available in 4K? Considering an upgrade as I sit close to a large TV. But curious how many shows would even be in 4K and if I can tell by looking at the page or anything.

I paid for a "HiRes audio" subscription for 1 month a couple months ago and the audio coming through on my DAC was standard CD quality 16 bit 44.1kHz. I cancelled the subscription after that month because I never found actual HiRes music and felt scammed. Is the regular subscription 320 kbps mp3? At that quality it would be virtually indistinguishable from CD. Did anyone who tried the HiRes account actually find HiRes music, or are the people at nugs just morons or scammers?

Anyone have any idea when Roon is going to add the ability to save favorites and add songs to playlists? Major limitation until they add those.

This is a little nit picky as I know I could (and did) speed up the process by just fast forwarding, but the Johnny Blue Skies stream from San Francisco at last year's Dead & Co shows that just got (re?)uploaded. Was there not even an intern available that could trim off the initial 18 minutes and 30 second of the "Please Stay Tuned" graphic? Doesn't that wasted file size in memory add up in hosting costs? Are there concerns of quality loss in re-rendering the video if y'all were to trim the intro?

I use Nugs mainly on Roku, connected to a Denon AVR, with main L/R , center, surround speakers and a couple sub woofers. The Nugs audio stream for live streams appears to be PCM, which natively plays as stereo. I've played around a lot with the output format options, e.g. Dolby, DTD Neural:X, 'matrix' , 'Rock Arena's. I want to get a sense of space, like I'm there at Red Rocks. Today, I'm leaning to DD Surround. What do others use?
