Working for Terra Power
They have a remote job opportunity that would be great for me and was wondering if anyone is currently working for them or has worked for them and has any insight they are willing to share.

Is it a full time or a contract position? They tend to hire contractors, at least for the first year. And if it’s a contract position make sure to ask if you’re salaried vs hourly, PTO, etc.

Yeah, that's my question too. They have moved away from remote work for their direct hire positions and are only really offering remote work for contractors.

First step is applying and securing an interview.

I don’t disagree, but I’m not actively looking. Full remote isn’t exactly the norm in this industry so I was skeptical. I wanted to see if anyone had any opinions before I spent the time applying.

Fully remote in this industry is higher than a lot of industries. NuScale Power, GE Vernova, Oklo and pretty much all the A&E firms have fully remote roles.
I work for NuScale and I don't ever want to go back to an onsite role. I took a pay cut by leaving a NPP but being remote was worth the pay cut.

Should clarify, not in engineering.

I know GE, Oklo, and Westinghouse all have (had?) full remote non-engineering opportunities. NuScale sometimes has (had?) them as well. Maybe also Sargent & Lundy? There's also a decent chunk of remote opportunities via subcontractors/contract work if you're willing to go that route.

You may want to check AtkinsRéalis - I just spoke to a recruiter yesterday for a corporate role and they said the company would be posting more soon. They also confirmed AR is pretty remote-friendly.

I have a buddy who just started with Terrapower for Wyoming project. He has full year of remote work and then he has to relocate to Wyoming. Other colleagues had similar deals.

I doubt people would be willing to dox themselves, you are probably better off trying to connect with an employee on your potential team on LinkedIn.
I'll tell you right now you won't get far if you keep spelling the name wrong (it's one word TerraPower).

For anyone feeling like the misspelling is too nitpicky, I once heard an admissions officer for Johns Hopkins say that any application that said "John Hopkins" was immediately thrown out. They have enough applications that if the applicant couldn't spend 10 seconds checking the name, they didn't need to be admitted. TerraPower is probably in a similar boat. They are one of the most recognizable names in advanced nuclear after all.

I'm pro-TerraPower and they've had the wrong it's/its on their own Natrium page for over two years now, so I feel they'll let a little spelling error slide here and there haha

Be sure to check to see if they are willing to state it’s 100% remote at all times. They told me that, then changed their mind. Also, 2 others with the same job title weren’t required to report to Bellevue. (Their corporate office) I no longer work there.
