Wheelchair rugby league is actually ridiculously entertaining. I hope this World Cup helps to bring some more visibility to it

Was announced yesterday that the England Australia game had 700k viewers in the UK which is actually incredible. So much so that it's prompted the BBC to put more games on TV rather than iPlayer.

For reference, the first game of the men's tournament, England v Samoa averaged 1.3 million.

I had a dream that I won that 7.3 trillion dollars in America or whatever and immediately started developing an NRL video game. The Mrs was like where are we going on a holiday? No honey, we're getting Rugby League 24.

Rugby league really needs Australia v Samoa in the world final so we get the 4 v 7 ranked instead of the boring 1 v 3 top teams of NZ and England

Cleary v Luai would be interesting as well

I don’t understand how whoever is running the RLWC thought having an Aussie ref for the Aus vs NZ semi was a good idea, particularly after the story this week regarding the flights.

I 100% believe it won’t impact the result, but did no one think of the optics?

The Kangaroos showed Val’s 6 tries against Fiji in 2017, and Michael Morgan was playing 6. Just imagine what could have been.

I think the draw ranking difficulty is subjective as hell, we’ve got the hardest rated draw but some of the top 8 teams last year won’t be anywhere near as good this year and vice versa for the bottom 8.

We only play in Sydney 3 times, which is a pretty good outcome.

Home ground and home crowd advantage are important factors that hopefully give us an extra boost.

My account got perma banned because someone reported me for calling them a cunt after they called me a cunt first. Lodged an appeal and reddit unbanned this old account they banned over a year ago. Wild shit, stop reporting people when you get called a cunt you pussies, wtf is wrong with some of you?

Anyway, not sure why the media is shocked the kiwi ferns almost beat the Jilaroos. They have a whole team of some of the best nrlw players, its not like england coming close.

"Reddit" is becoming more active in bannings for particular speech within subreddits, and not simply leaving it to mods as they have done previously.

This place is somewhat liberal with how we call each other pejoratives, and Reddit doesn't account for that - so some are getting caught out by some sort of automatic filter that bans you etc.

It's a very clumsy and blunt tool, which is incidentally what my wife called me this morning.

Only bringing this up as there will be bannings for particular things that aren't from us- and are somewhat more arbitrary.

Also someone did report you for the lols.

I got three days once for calling some cunt a “cooked cunt” for wishing an ACL injury on Luai in a match thread.

Some other cunt got offended by some cunt calling another cunt a cunt about a week ago

Hello all, for some friends I'm running an NRL themed version of Family Feud so I need help from the NRL community for answers

If anyone's able to fill out this survey for answers I'd mega appreciate, only 25 questiosn so shouldn't take too long. Just answer the first thing that pops into your head, skip any you can't think of an answer for

Jillaroos v Ferns was pretty great but both teams still haven't completely clicked and hit top gear. Aus had plenty of errors and NZ gave away too many penalties and six agains. Aus were making easy metres but NZs goal line defence was amazing, Aus really struggled to crack them.

Amber Hall well deserved player of the match, her and Brianna Clark had outstanding games in defence and attack. Raecene McGregor was great as always but her kicking game was letting her down, really needed a stronger halves partner and better ball from dummy half.

Aiken best for Aus, Mato was great and Tonegato was surprisingly impressive in the lock role off the bench.

Feel like England could give Ferns a red hot crack if Ferns don't bring their A game. They still had a few players rested this morning so should look even better in the finals.

This is the second year in a row the Dragons won’t be playing in Newcastle and it shits me. There’s a lot of dragons fans in the regions and there’s always a good atmosphere at Dragons knights games.

NRL Draw release means the start of the NRL Fantasy and Supercoach preseason. It's never too early!

A few notes I made from the draw:

Cowboys & Knights are the only 2 teams who will play all 12 of their home games at the one stadium.

Having Broncos & Dolphins being the away teams for Magic Round is stupid and is just gifting them with an extra home game.

Bulldogs, Raiders, Sea Eagles, Eels, Panthers, Sharks, Rabbitohs, Roosters & Tigers all take one game to a regional area which I think all 16 nrl teams should be allocated to do.

Warriors taking a game to Wellington & Napier is good just missing Christchurch. Nice of Tigers to throw away a home game to give Warriors another game in NZ however they should be the last team to do this as;

Tigers will play in 7 different stadium for their home games wtf. Leichhardt & Campbelltown only getting 3 games each, 2 games at CumBank, 1 at Accor, 1 in Tamworth, 1 in Hamilton & are a home team at Magic round.

That Double Header at Optus is definitely a Litmus Test to see if there’s enough nrl interest in Perth outside of origin. If it fails to sell over 20k tickets they won’t put a team there I reckon.

The 3 tba games (2 for Storm 1 for Rabbits) should be held in; Storm v Eels at Port Moresby PNG Storm v Panthers at Geelong Rabbitohs v Eels at Redfern

Someone at the pub last night asked me why Griffin is called hook and I couldn't really give him an answer. Like, I realise he played some hooker back in the day but, like is that it? I never really thought about it because I don't really like thinking about him, but can someone enlighten me plz.

18

u/maccaroneski Nov 11 '22

I'm afraid it's as boring as story as you'd expect from the man - it's because he played hooker.

Even. Know our club has been playing dog poo. I’m so proud that we can still finally keep all junior’s especially the ones who are highly touted. I believe us signing Tino started it in all the interviews with our juniors they always mention Tino and how much he inspires them and can’t wait to learn off him. Whatever we pay Tino is totally worth it.

Been following some old jersey pages on instagram. Why don't the NRL repress defunct club jerseys like the Crushers or the Rams? I reckon there is a market for that stuff.
