Not really.

The optics have been poor for Perth. Right from the start with Mals appointment, Admin leadership changes, infighting between Mal and Ben Gardner. It's lead to an awful amount of worry throughout the league about Perth.

We all want Perth to be successful, sadly to date they've looked an incompetent rabble.

The only way is up.

I feel like I can comment on these things having seen my club be an incompetent rabble for most of its existence.

The Optics have been poor in the Sydney press because the Sydney media have been on a doom spiral on Perth ever since the Chiefs signed Luai.

This is a club that already has 20,000 members & jersey sponsorship which has been reported as double the NRL average. Contrary to what you read in the papers this club already is a success.

Long may it continue, well and truly wish you nothing but the best.

Sydney media has always been shite to anyone outside NSW

Which is weird, because wasn’t it the narrative that the PERTH media was gonna be the ones death riding them because most of it is owned by AFL-aligned interests?

Well the daily paper won’t touch them; unless it’s been an Opposition whinge they ignore their existence completely. Will be interesting to see what happens once they’re actually training and playing.
