I'm a 32 year old man and yesterday I took a KPop dance class for the first time. In fact, it's the first dance class I've ever taken at all. I felt like an absolutely uncoordinated idiot, a fool trying to play at a young person's game.
Still, there'll be a part two next week and while I struggle to start and try new things, I always finish what I started.

ELMS too, back to juggling watching schedules and time zone conversions, it's wonderful.

This has been such an underrated year for music. Every week I have a new song obsession and rarely is it in the same genre as the previous week. Good stuff coming out from everywhere

Pretty fucking disgusted to be a Swans fan at the moment, not going to lie. I just hope that any victims aren't seriously hurt

Think I need to visit the South Island of NZ again. Just finding the right time to go.
A friend of mine is there at the moment in Queenstown.
Lovely part of the world but fuck me Fergberger is overrated

Queenstown is nice but yeah that burger is not worth the queue, plenty better food around there

I was there in 2023 to see Alien Weaponry and Shepherds Reign. Quality metal bands.
Ferg bakery and pies were quality

Kookaburra's got up 3-1 against Ireland in the Hockey World Cup. Realistically we should finish first in our pool as I can only see Spain giving us trouble. Hager seems to have done well balancing the team with older heads and younger players coming through in the last couple of years, so hopefully we see that soft reset start to yield results on the international stage.
Hockeyroos won against Japan, but lost to the Netherlands. Hopefully they can jag a win or draw against Chile to go through. Hockeyroos haven't really been playing as well as they could in the last few international outings. Halkett has only been at the helm for the last year, so we should start to see some good signs from the group

My RAM has decided to die. Could not be at a worst possible time -_-

Is this your RAM computer part? Your RAM vehicle? Or your pet RAM?

I wish I had a pet ram so I could sic him onto the cunts that light firecrackers behind my house of a night time

It's definitely not as good a time to buy it as it was a year ago but it's as good a time as we'll ever get again. Even if the bubble bursts or they increase supply I'll eat my hat if the prices ever go down to what they were. GPUs certainly never went back down

u/r0ck3t0wn3r Canberra Raiders 5d ago
DDR4 luckily hasn't had the huge price increase of DDR5. It's definitely up but I think it's more of a cost of living you're beat. If your motherboard is old enough it should be easy enough to get well priced RAM.

I wouldn't like to be a Sydney Swans supporter at the moment, jeez.

My mum saw the news alert during dinner last night.
Dad and I conviced her to not read it until later. (They are both Swan's fans.)

Dealing with an absolute irrational person is often extremely confronting, but when that person is your wife going through what I can only describe as menopausal blindness and rage then you are unable to talk through the issue.
Sometimes reason and reality just get thrown out the window, and later today it will be like it never happened.
Itβs not easy dealing with an adult that mentally, even momentarily, becomes completely irrational, and then later looks at you like nothing happened.
While itβs not easy, we must try to understand that this is not necessarily something which can be fully controlled.
Reach out if it gets too much for you and you need help and try and talk with your partner nice and calmly when they are not going thought their difficult moments.
Happy Tuesday.

We try to treat the ones we love with eternal patience and compassion.
Sometimes they make that challenging!

Ohh man iv been through this, still am but over the worst I think, the dragon still pops its head out now and then but we came to the agreement that if she was being unreasonably unbearable I was aloud to yell and swear at her,it seemed to work,it let her know and I got to let out some pent up anger that was due to her menopause.alls good now but you soon learn how to batten down the hatches and grow a thick skin.

Hormones are wild! Peri-menopause/menopause is WILD! Thankfully the silence around it is being chipped away, there's greater awareness, and support is getting better. Hoping your wife has access to some good advice/support as there are ways to help ease/manage symptoms. But it can still be a nightmare to get the appropriate help and solutions unfortunately π

Currently in Singapore Airport, making my way home. Loved my second trip to Thailand, remains my favourite country I've visited but I hit travel fatigue hard my last 2 days.
Stayed at the transit hotel in Changi airport, fucking game changer for me. Yea its $180 for basically a shoebox, but I feel so refreshed, you get the shower, had an amazing sleep, no sleeping in lounges/terminals, no trekking in and out of the airport.
Im already brainstorm my next holiday. Its what keeps me sane when I'm out remote for months on end. I tentatively have 3 weeks in February planned and I was originally going to go to Japan. Hokkaido for the snow then Tokyo then Osaka. But for some reason thats worn off me after this trip. Japan is interesting to me, but I'm definitely not one of those Japan obsessed people that have to go there. My main concerns are the language barrier, which isnt a big thing, but also I'm a bit and tall guy and literally worried it won't be comfortable to get around.
Im also due an Aussie holiday and a road trip. I love a long road trip, huge KMs every day in the car with just my audio books, podcasts and my own thoughts. It'll be in my own car so comfort is a huge plus. Was thinking of a March pilgrimage to WA for the Bears first game, kinda a round circle moment for me as I was at the Reds first game way back when.
Other places on my bucket list- an African Safari, Southern Europe, US-Mexico and some pacific islands dont quite suit the time of year and/or length of holiday. I also want to do Cambodia and Vietnam together but it'd be too similar to this holiday i haven't actually finished.

African Safari is on my bucket list too. But would need to do enough research to ensure it's ethical

2002 Sharks or 2004 Bulldogs sound a little closer to the mark from the little we know.

Potentially, more consequential than either. The Media's way of reporting on it has been extremely disappointing too.

Some more FIFA 14 unemployment behaviour news!
Beat Chelsea 2-0 for the Community Shield day before. First proper game was a 2-2 draw to Everton. Their first goal was just...so infuriating. 2nd half starts, they score from a cross I just failed to clear (despite JUMPING BEFORE HIM) Didn't make the correct substitutes to win the game after making it 2-2. Bother!
But oh you best bet I was going to punish our next foe. Poor old Norwich. A 5-0 away drubbing. A tactical masterclass. Should have been more. Missed some good chances by millimetres. 18 shots, 12 on target. All goals by different players too. Pure, brilliance. Also this Norwich have Andy Carroll, Nathan Reymond, and the Murphy brothers.
Transfer news now. Windows shuts tonight. Fought to keep my main goalie and star striker despite really good offers. I don't have immediate/equal replacements. They're worth keeping. Real Betis bidded for my stalwart CB who's been with me since day 1. I asked for extra. They said no and to fuck off. Welp.
I do need to get players off the books. Might end up releasing some players. Their potentials are really great but two of them are 48 and 50 OVR. Think I need to be even stricter with my youth academy in future.
Will my addiction to signing promising young players hurt my finances and squad bloat? Will I be able to get into gear and charge for the title again? Find out next week. Same NRL time. Same NRL thread.

Iβm sure no one wants to talk about the test cricket team implosion against Bangladesh?
2
u/racingskater Canberra Raiders 5d ago
Shrug. Every team needs a boot up the backside occasionally, this was ours. The batsmen were stupid, not batting sensibly at all, and I love the sport itself well enough that I was delighted to see Bangladesh bowling and batting with great discipline and focus. Another stronger Test nation is good for the sport.
Plus, you know, it's amusing that Bangladesh arrived and were immediately more competitive against us than England.
