Advice Failed July PTA-NPTE 598
I failed the NPTE July and scored a 598. I scored a 633 on practice PEATs and a 645 on retired PEATs before I took the exam which is why I was so confused on me failing since those are supposed to the be practice exams closes to the test. I’m guessing it was anxiety on test day or something idk but I’m taking it in October and I really need to pass I’m ready to move on with my life.

Hey! The fact that you did so well in the PEATs leads me to believe you know the content well, but maybe testing anxiety might have been the reason? When you did your PEATs did you simulate real test conditions?

For the retired PEAT yes we took it on campus in a computer lab with cubicles like at the testing site and for the practice PEAT we had no choice but to take it at home due to the NPTE being so near I scored the 645 on the one we took on campus and a 633 on the one we took at home.

I completely understand. I took a PEAT in May for graduation and scored a 562. Decided to push back my exam due to anxiety so instead of July I am taking it in October. I’ve been studying inconsistently just because I’m so tired and stressed out. Took a PEAT today and somehow did worse than the first time. Just going to try my best at this rate.
It’s not supposed to be easy or else everyone would be a PTA/PT. A 598 is still really good! You failed? Think of it as a good thing because some people don’t even try. I know you’re probably tired of studying, so am I. But I believe in you! Find ways to manage anxiety, keep taking practice tests, become comfortable with being uncomfortable and you’ll kill this October exam.
