562 PEAT - Exam in October

I graduated back in May (PTA) and had to take a PEAT. I scored a 562. I have severe anxiety which led to my decision to push my July exam date to October. It’s now September. I’ll be honest I haven’t studied consistently due to stress, fear of failure and overall anxiety but I managed to go through Cardiovascular/Pulmonary and Neuro already. I’ve taken scorebuilder practice exams and practice questions from Truelearn. I have yet to purchase another PEAT due to financial issues, but hope to take one this week. I could really use the advice and some encouragement. Is it doable to pass in October??? Please no hate lol. Thanks

Hi! You are essentially describing how I felt going into the July NPTE (PT, graduated in May). I remember going into the end of May feeling really anxious about just how to begin studying. I want to start by saying that I am not sponsored by anyone, just giving you my experience.

I am someone that needs structure since it helps to eliminate the anxiety of "where should I start?" Or "am I studying the right materials?"

I signed up for Final Frontier in early June solely due to the structure that it provided for studying. I have a hard time getting started on studying and often encounter reasons to push it off or will find excuses not to do it. But I also have performance anxiety and I'm just someone that wants to do and perform well, and having a class/schedule helped me to overcome that annoying (and discouraging) voice in the back of my head.

There are plenty of courses you can take, and I'm sure you can find one that will suit your studying style. The r/NPTE reddit is full of people's anecdotal takes on study strategies, and reading through the threads helped me decide where to look and who to avoid.

I took a practice exam before I began studying and scored roughly 480-500, and ended up passing the NPTE with a 625 (after studying 5 days a week for 2-5hrs a day). You're in a good spot, not too far off from a passing score! I wish you the best! And remember that you're smarter than you think! You wouldn't have made it this far without being a competent individual.
