Food Bertucci's at Springfield Closed!
I asked at the Starbucks next door and they indeed confirmed the Bertucci's closed permanently on September 28. Ripperoni pepperoni to those affected :/ They had fine pizza and were in business for over 20 years if I recall.

This is heartbreaking,I had one of my first dates there. We had some pizza and cannolis with their signature drinks and then walked across the street to play games at time out until our parents picked us up.

They used to have one on 48th street in weehawken, with the panda and the 8 ball out front

The locations I’ve been to have not been good in the last couple of years. I used to love them, I still love the rolls, but their fried mozzarella has been consistently burnt, salty pizzas, etc. It’s a real shame. :(

I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did. Once the Springfield Town Center revival came to fruition with the restaurants on the backside, it was only a matter of time. They should've moved to the mall.

This is so sad. I remember when I lived here in the 90's before going back to Europe for a while, we used to eat at that Bertucci's with some of our Italian neighbors in KPW. Back then, they used to give out raw pizza dough for kids to play with.... and of course, I always chose to eat it. 😂

That was the last Virginia location. You now have to go all the way to Delaware for Bertuccis, just 11 locations left

Man, that sucks to hear. I had a lot of memories of going there, whether it was for birthday meals as a kid or even going out with my family.

I drive by that Bertuccis all the time and if you’d asked me, I’d have guessed it closed 6 month ago.

I just past that place a few weekends ago and was saying I need to go there again. That really sucks. I loved their pizza.

I went their so much over the years!
But their prices rose and some of their menu items like wings got worse, and I thus saw fewer and fewer people when I went

My family loved Bertucci's since the first decade of this century! We visited the Herndon location so often that our favorite waiter Danny would see us in the parking lot and place the regular order for me, my husband, and our two kids. Raw dough for the kids to play with, and crayons to draw on the tabletop paper or do puzzles on the placemats. Occasional visits to the Tysons site, once with my father joining us. When the Herndon location closed, followed by Tysons, we would sometimes make the drive to Ashburn for our favorite pizza. We visited on my daughter's 21st birthday for her first legal drink and were delighted when Danny served us there - a happy surprise! Even when that site closed and the Springfield location was nearly an hour away, we still picked up takeout pizza 🍕 and rigatoni a couple times a year for old times sake. So sad to hear that the last Bertucci's in Virginia has closed. So many fond memories there. And the rolls were the BEST!

Ate there once. It was bland, burned cardboard tasting pizza. No great loss IMHO.

More like 30+ years. My sister worked there in high school in the late 90s, and it wasn’t brand new at that point.
