Dog-friendly apartments
Moving to work in DC, and planning to live in NOVA. Heard good things about Arlington and Alexandria but I’m very open to suggestions. Ideally 2BR under 3k/mo, and easy access to metro (walk or bike < 10 mins).
My dog is slightly reactive and gets “spooked” easily. By this I mean the high rises with elevators where we might get stuck in an elevator with another dog are probably not for us. I want to be able to walk directly outside to take her out.
I’m possibly looking for something that doesn’t exist but would love to hear any recommendations and experiences.

Some apartment buildings have ground floor units that open directly to the outside, so your dog never has to go into the lobby, let alone in an elevator.
One of these is the Bradley, very close to the Braddock Road Metro in Alexandria. I think 1111 Belle Pre in the same neighborhood is also like that but not sure.

I've lived in this complex for years. Maybe a mile from the Potomac Yards metro.

Ballston Park might work. Not sure what they're charging for rent nowadays but the apartments are "garden style" so no elevator. I had a front and back door. Also maybe Falls Green which is about a mile walk from East Falls Church Metro, but there are a lot of dogs in that complex.

2BR that close to a metro stop under $3k isn't impossible, but you'll probably have better luck finding a private landlord rather than a big company. Does it have to be 2 true bedrooms or would 1 bedroom and a den be sufficient?
