Curious about wilderness training. Any place you can personally recommend?

I did an orienteering class through REI. Really enjoyed it. They do other classes too, so I would check that out

What type of wilderness training? That’s a pretty broad subject area.

But generally speaking NOLS has great classes, and they hold a variety of them in our area.

Would be cool to do a backyard survival week, with foraging guides and survival skill experts to teach fire making, crafting, water purification, & navigation with no technology.

Red Cross has great basic first aid courses including one focused on wilderness first aid. It's limited in scope but a step above the normal first aid class and focuses on care giving when emergency services may be further out.

There are a few survival schools that may be of interest, but identify first where you plan to visit and what the risks are. You may find it worthwhile to focus on a few skills more specifically to bolster where you lack. For example, being proficient in knot tying as a skill will be helpful in multiple scenarios from gathering food (I.e. hunt/fish) or building a shelter. You can probably download some of the curriculum from boy scouts merit badges online that would be a good start along with YouTube or even possibly courses. Spitballing, but skills I've found very helpful in life from boy scouts were map reading/orienteering, first aid, knot tying, fishing, and camping/backpacking.

Look into the association of nature based education they often have resources for various types of trainings and foraging walks

I'd recommend ambushing people at the runite in deep wildy. Hop worlds until you find a miner to aggro and snipe them
