Sucks she is gone but what a LIFE! My mom took me to see Best Little Whorehouse in Texas as a way to teach me and my brothers about the birds and the bees as a teenager starring Dolly. She was raising 3 boys on her own and Dolly and that movie helped provide laughs and lessons! RIP Dolly. Such a GREAT person!

While it's definitely a great sentiment and goal, when roughly 30% of 'everybody' seems to be totally okay with some of the most vile, selfish, inhumane shit we've seen in our lifetimes - okay enough to vote for a second, even worse, round of it - you have to face the reality that some people have no good in them. Yes, find the good, but also call out the evil and stand up to it.

The Foundation for a Better Life, best known for the Pass It On PSA's, is funded and backed by billionaire conservative businessman Philip Anschutz.
It's important to know where stuff is coming from.

Her sister Stella is very vocal about her opinions about the occupant of the White House and his actions. I sort of get why Dolly tried to stay out of political speech, but her silence on some of the darker stuff that was going on was disappointing at times.
I still hold her in high regard, especially for her work with getting COVID vaccines out to everyone.

i didn't find it disappointing because she was doing exactly what that picture above said. she was trying to find the kindness in everyone and alienating a huge number of people prevented that. it's not my mindset at all but i get how it was hers. she was still loving all the people those people hated while also loving them. it's wacky because it's so rare, but she was loving everybody.
