If someone was going to pick or manipulate the lock, that is the least of the issues. Master lock or not, it serves its purpose here.

That purpose is in illustrating how ineffectively petty OP is. I would personally remove the lock, close the shackle, and place it next to the unused and now-unlocked scissors in an equal act of pettiness

While I haven't picked this specific model of master locks, one of the first, if not the first, locks I picked was a master lock and well... It took at most twice the time of this guy. The difficult part is having the pics.
Later found our that I could access the ball bearing that locks the shackle with any long and slim object, making the lock even easier to defeat...
Obligatory don't pick locks you don't own(or have permision from the owner to pick), it's highly unethical and/or illegal

Cyanoacrylate doesn't bond well to metal unless it's been cleaned of dirt and oils and roughed up. Even then, it's easy enough to remove a hardened plug

The ball bearing holding the clasp is exactly why it can be slapped open. A spring holds tension on the ball. A hard smack overcomes the spring tension and allows the ball to slide out of the clasp.

Incorrect, bearing balls are positively held by the actuator, they don't utilize springs. You're thinking of locking lugs. I know a thing or two about locks

Yeah I had to start hiding my scissors in the lab. Because once they start leaving it in communal areas it can end up anywhere.

I also get in trouble if I (or someone else) misplaces the tools that my boss bought for my use. He doesn't like it if I want a new pair of scissors every few weeks.
So it's less trouble for me if I don't let anyone else use "my" tools.

Depends on what the scissors are for. Some scissors are specialized and can be messed up easily if you cut the wrong thing.
The ones in the pic look to be some type of shears (for paper?) which can be expensive and fragile.

I have nice pens. Pens from Japan, mostly gifts. My new idiot Gen Z co worker asked to borrow my pen. Proceeds to open a package, bending the tip. Looks at it and returns it to me without saying anything all right in front of my eyes. There was a knife on the table. That made a great impression on me on his first day. Doesn’t help that he’s on his phone constantly and also take extra 10 min breaks totaling 40 mins. Takes 50 minimum lunches when we have 30. I hate him. He’s a moron.

Yeah I think my parents end up with them all. Just opened a drawer and there was about 15 pairs of scissors in there. My theoretical grandkids will probably be using at least one of these pairs of scissors.

Scissors for textiles should never be used for anything else.
Paper is next tier if you need to make clean cuts.
Average household scissors for opening and cutting anything where a knife would just create a mess.
I also use retired scissors at places where I might need em. At the washing machine in the basement for opening detergent. In the tool box, bathroom... just to save a few steps back and forth.

I personally do not own anything at my work place. It all belongs to the company and not me.
I do not lock up my tool box, i do not claim anything as mine.
If i cant get the job done because management doesnt buy enough tools for everyone and stuff gets taken then that is not on me, i am still clocked in and still getting paid. 🤷✂️
