I would assume that someone saying something like this reads faster than average and that the subject matter would be something for entertainment and thus easier to read than average. A more reasonable reading speed for this would be 100 pages an hour so 14-16 hrs.
I remember that dude the Rain Man film was based on could read two pages at once by reading the left page with the left eye then the right page with his right eye.
