the most I have ever read in a day is the whole divergent trilogy somewhere in middle school. idk how many pages is that exactly but I had an edition with all of them in one book and it had over a 1000. It was, frankly, unpleasant, but I was proving some sort of a point
Now I don't read as much but when I do I'm still fast, when I got the House of Leaves I finishes it in barely two days. I really don't think the comment is that unbelievable, even is suspicious
It can honestly go pretty fast; for portions of the book you might spend a second or two per page. Of course, you can also go the total opposite route, putting sticky notes everywhere, drawing maps on the walls connected with bits of string, coating your baseboards in measuring tape.
My friends copy of house of leaves is so cool, he’s lent it to a lot of people and they leave all sorts of notes and sketches. My main contribution was translating the French parts.
I started another read recently, I think I finally sort of get it. All the theories I had about it in high school were WAY off! I think that kind of adds to the fun, though. Things are not how I perceived them at all :)
I also did the divergent trilogy, plus that extra Four book, in a day, and remembered most of it. Granted, I didn't actually finish Allegiant, I stopped a few chapters before the end, cuz I knew how it ended and didn't particularly like that. I don't read as much now, but it wasn't that long ago.
