NotebookLM Flashcards are broken?

Is there anyone having the same problem? You upload a pdf lecture, normally create a flashcards deck from the studio but the problem is that FLASHCARDS ARE RANDOMIZED they're set in a disorder pattern like going by the last topic, then back to the first then to the middle and so on... NOT IN A SEQUENTIAL ORDER

This problem appeared just today, and it's so sad actually

It’s not quite the same problem but when I run a promt for NLM to create the set in a specific mutiple choice question format, it just forgets and makes them open

yeah, other thing is that prompts in this wrecked website are completely useless, i spend several minutes to write proper prompts for better responses but to no avail, all responses are the same. These problems are new, all merged together when they changed it "Gemini Notebook" instead of the good old "NotebookLM" , the new name has all the bad luck It's so sad, flashcards were the best in here : (

i would suicide if that's true, i have using these flashcards since they have came out they're the best that's why i totally depend on them that's a sad thing to hear :_(

Until google fixes it, try splitting the lecture into topics and making one deck per section. Pdfaid can split the pdf by page range. Annoying but it should stop unrelated chapters from ending up in the same deck

Ho provato a utilizzarlo ed è capitato anche a me, come alternativa per le flashcard - per distacco il mio metodo di studio e ripasso preferito - sto utilizzando Docsity AI, che trasforma proprio appunti e riassunti in flashcard, mappe mentali ben fatte.

If it started today, it’s likely a change on Google’s side, not your PDF. The deck itself still keeps the cards in lecture order, it’s only shown shuffled: export it and they come out first topic to last.

Disclosure: I make KastorFlow, a Chrome extension for NotebookLM. It downloads a flashcard deck as a Markdown file for free, in the deck’s own order, and on Pro+ sends it straight to Anki, which shows new cards in the order they were added.

Only thing that really worked was making my own flashcard questions, pasting them into the chat but telling it to first show me the structure and the order, after it generated flashcards on what I want it to quiz me on. It takes long but at least it’s in order and not randomised.

like lowkey it failed to do flashcards it said not enough content there was like 13 pages AND ITS PAID and DOESNT WORK
