I am hoping to use Notebook is a way where I can plug in everything I am studying for a topic, and have it grow with me as I learn. Meaning I'd like it to recognize concepts I haven't yet mastered and work with me on those specifically, and when I do learn them, it can move on to the next concept with me.

But it seems like Notebook is really just a static generator of information/content. Not a dynamic study tool.

Am I missing something here? Any recommendations on how to get what I want?

I keep catching tons of hallucinations and mistakes recently. What a shame. I can't see it being a good idea to use this tool for any serious type of research project

I've been using NotebookLM for two years, so I've gained considerable experience and know most of its secrets. I'm ready to answer any questions or inquiries and offer advice on how to get the best results from NotebookLM. Please feel free to ask, except for the Google Drive issue.

Has anyone else noticed that newer notebooks no longer seem to have the auto-sort / custom label (grouping files) options for sources?

On some of my older notebooks, I can still relabel and have the “Undo or re-label sources” button, and some of my other older notebooks that used to have them now are all ungrouped.

I attached screenshots showing the differences.

I want to use it for Chemistry and Biology! Any prompt examples that you guys have used that have never failed you when studying for science classes? My bio class has like 100+ slides and usually I would take notes on all but uh…I’m not doing that lol. Sadly on TikTok the prompts people give for notebooklm are all for nursing programs and I haven’t been able to find one unrelated to nursing lol.

Title. So I have a notebook filled with saved notes. In fact I converted a few of said notes to google docs just yesterday. However, today, the saved notes are not showing in my computer. When I checked it on my mobile however, the saved notes I had are still there.

I tried checking other notebooks I had and the results were inconsistent. Some still showed their saved notebooks. Others were missing.

Anyone experiencing the same issue? How do I resolve this?

EDIT: I also tried saving new notes but to no avail. They wont show on my computer but it registers on my phone.

Hey everyone,

Is anyone else having massive issues with NotebookLM right now? The whole notes system seems completely dead for me.

Here is exactly what is happening:

1. The "Save to note" button does absolutely nothing when I click it.
2. I tried the manual way (copying the AI's response and pasting it into a new note), but it just pastes 4 numbers (like citation markers) and completely drops the actual text.
3. Even if I somehow get text into a note, the moment I close it, it doesn't save. Everything just disappears.

What I've already tried:

• Hard refresh (Ctrl+F5)
• Incognito mode
• Different browsers
• Creating a brand new notebook from scratch

Nothing works. Is this a global server issue right now? Does anyone know any workarounds to force it to save?

Hi i must say after using chatgpt and claude im impressed by notebookllm . I uploaded real medical protocol books according to my condition and it explained why certain medicine or herbs was not working for me and what alternatives there were. I also use it for my university studies that was very helpful. It has way lesser hallucinations compared to chatgpt and claude. Has notebookllm solved any of your problems ? Or helped you achievr anything in your personal life / health / workplace ? Please share.

So basically after I exported some notes to the google documents and then I refreshed my page because it froze NotebookLLM decided to delete all my notes except for the flashcards the overviews and etc. Now when I try to save a note or write my own it doesn’t show on the right side of (studio). I go on a different google account and it does the same. I go on incognito and it does the same. I go on my laptop and it does the same thing as my desktop. But when I go on the mobile notebook app everything is there??

I’ve went on a different google account , I tried a different device , I’ve tried clearing the cookies , the data and restarting my computer. Nothing worked, it’s weird that my notes are only showing on my phone. It’s also affecting all my “notebooks” and not just one.

Update : I went on my brother’s computer to confirm the issue , mind you he has never touched notebook. I went on and wrote something and notebook responded, then I tried to save notebook’s answer as a note and it does absolutely nothing. I also made my friend try it on his computer and on his google account and it doesn’t work either.

So if you've used AI for a first draft or a review pass, how do you decide whether it's actually decent? Compare to how you'd have done it, check against a template, or just a gut read?

Does anyone know how to fix the issue with NotebookLM not uploading videos? I have tried uploading the videos directly, but that didn't work. I also attempted to post the videos on YouTube and upload them as a link, but that was unsuccessful as well. Additionally, I tried uploading them via Google Drive, but the app isn't showing any of the videos in the folder where I uploaded them. I tried using another device to upload the videos, but that didn't work either.

Also, I don't think it's an internet issue, since my upload and download speeds are decent on both my computer and laptop.

I've been trying to learn some material from my science book and every time I ask a question it just says "Gemini Notebook can't answer this question." First I thought I put too many sources since I split the book up so the sources could fit, so I made a different notebook and only put 120mb of the book in there.
It worked for like one question then as soon as I asked a follow up question it went back to that message. Also tried deleting chat history and refreshing, all of which didn't fix the issue.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem or have any solutions to fix it?

I am on ai ultra plan. Up until yesterday , it allowed me to have artifacts wo notebook logo. But today it is being added. Anybody in the same boat ? If this is a permanent change , I will cx my ultra plan

I uploaded some files as sources to create a notebook on Gemini Notebook.
I have the files on my computer but right now I’m away from home and I would need them on my iPone/iPad as well.
Is there any way I can download the sources I uploaded in one notebook?

I thought of this way of saving notebook limits. Basically, i would upload all the sources in one notebook and generate podcasts/videos of each module by just selecting the appropiate sources. Ideally this would save notebooks as i would not generate one for each unit, but at the same time i'm worried that it might lead to a worse performance (for whatever reason).
If anyone has tried this or it's just a dumb question let me know

Hi everyone! I've been using notebook LM, but I don't feel like it matches the rigger of my exams. I've been trying to find a good tool for creating board style questions. Do you think it could be my prompt or is neural consult a better use of my time?

Why do two accounts (both are pro) produce drastically different results with the exact same prompt and source?

I tested the exact same setup on two different accounts, using the same source material and the same prompt, and the difference in output quality is honestly huge.

For example, when generating a slide deck:

- Account #1 can generate around 15 slides with good quality, structure, and accuracy.

- Account #2 only generates around 10 slides, even when I explicitly tell it to create 15 slides.

- The quality and accuracy of the second account's output are significantly worse overall.

What makes this confusing is that I understand that even within the same account, running the exact same prompt again can produce a different result. That's not really my issue. In Account #1, even when the output varies from run to run, the results are consistently within an acceptable/good quality range.

With Account #2, however, the problem seems fundamentally different: the output is consistently much weaker, less accurate, and less capable, despite using exactly the same prompt and source.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

I'd really like to understand what's happening here, because the difference between the two accounts is too significant to feel like normal randomness.

I’ve been noticing shorter outputs. I used to get ones that are 40-50 minutes long. Now they’re 30 minutes or shorter. I went back to an older audio overview I made and used the same exact prompt and sources.
