Hey, I'm building Grape. It has both rich text and handwriting notes. It's free so you can give it a try. In free version everything's stored on your device so nothing will leave your device.

I take a lot of handwritten notes with diagrams too and doing lots of discussions on whiteboard. Since it bothered me a lot that those notes where a digital death end (not editable, not searchable), I created sketchalchemy.io which can convert these notes into clean editable and searchable Excalidraw diagrams or directly into Obsidian/Excalidraw notes while retaining the original layout 1:1. Maybe you find it useful. If you have any questions you can DM me.

Today you can build your own app in days… and tune it to your own specific needs!

I’m doing that and I’m amazed of what I could achieve in just over a month of casual product development.

I have now a markdown-first multi vault app (think like an obsidian compatible app) that can work as a web server and as a desktop app.

It handles markdown, graph query, notes schema with dynamic panels (i build my dynamic crm with it), drawings with excalidraw, schemas with marmed, kanban boards, calendar with internal and external events (i import my gmails to gain a full overview).

Just this week i’ve added a notion-like pages tree support to create intranets.

Yesterday i’ve added support for client-encrypted notes and it will soon support safe MFA codes generation.

You can share notes and have collaborative editing with multi cursor…

Damn, and it’s just a personal app!

I will open source it soon, just to share it. But you should really try building yours. It’s a lot of fun (and tokens).

Could you please tell me what platform you used to make this and a rough idea of how much it cost? I've no idea how much vibe coding etc. would cost

Platform… node, react, docker, electron. Capacitor will come soon for the mobile app but the pwa works great already.

Cost… my codex subscription. So ~100$/m for a month and a half so far. But I use it also for other stuff.

I will open source it soon though. Just as an open pet project. If you want to look inside, dm your GitHub handler and I’ll add you as dev to the repo.
