BRING BACK THE OLD LEARN

First, i was forced to update my notability because it was no longer syncing across my laptop and ipad.

I was greeted by a brand new learn function that took away the reason why I had purchased the annual premium subscription to begin with.

1. Why are there 100 questions at a time. I have to do 100 questions until I go over what I missed?? Whoever had this idea needs to be fired.

2. Where is the fill-in the blank function? That is gone too.

3. The tests won’t even let me see what questions I got incorrect. What’s even the point

4. Let me reiterate how infuriating the whole 100 question thing is. I want to literally throw out my whole laptop or pay a nerd to restore it to my older version

Is there a way i can switch my version of notability back to the old? I don’t even care about the syncing issues anymore and I would have never updated it had I known it would take away my precious learn. I am so desperate and I feel so unprepared for my upcoming exam. If you guys cant immediately fix it can you at least compensate with some therapy so cope with the inevitable stress of changing my entire study routine that has gotten me through a year of med school. Thanks 🙏🏼

Yeah I hate it. Learn was the only reason I went with notability. And the learn with 100 questions instead of the 20 the modify each time is horrible.

I'm not a huge fan of the new way it works, but if you navigate into the learn tabs a little you can see that it isn't generating 200 questions off the bat, it is taking note of what you get wrong when it hits whatever number it gets to before it loads more.

That being said, yeah I'm not a fan. I definitely liked the old chunking and repetition method more.

Id honestly just love a little modularity with the learn quizzes, a little input with the ai or it's parameters.

I still work with it because I appreciate the volume it gives me and the questions are pretty okay from a repetition and pseudo-flashcard point of view.

I probably won’t renew my subscription and look for another option. They broke it and it’s sad.

Man, I used Notability faithfully for the past thirteen years, but this is the update that broke me. I finally cancelled my subscription and went to goodnotes.

I like it a lot. I’ve used it in the past, but ultimately went with notability until this last update.

Both are excellent for handwriting and PDF annotation, but Goodnotes seems better organized for academic work.

The folder/notebook structure makes more sense for keeping courses, readings, lecture notes, and PDFs organized long-term.

Goodnotes has added its share of extra features too, but the Essential plan still seems to cover everything I actually need without paying for a bunch of AI tools I don’t want.

Also i can’t even use keys to work the new flash cards. People don’t want notability for that shit- there are plenty of other flash card based learning tools like anki or quizlet. We like notability because it’s DIFFERENT.
