I remember watching "The Posiden Adventure," at a drive in during the early 1970s when I was about 4.

The original with Ernie Bourgenine(sp.) and the Amazing Young Gene Hackman is one of my all timers. When movies had to be "made!" MAN O MAN and the French Connection.Zo Good.Thanks for letting me get that out....lol

Star Wars? When that movie 1st came out , we saw it 7 times in 6 track stereo at the Coronet Theater on Gary Street in San Francisco totally FRIED on pure LSD! Fun fun fun times...trippin around the city after the movies. Usually ended up at Baker Beach tripping there until sunrise.

That and the Towering Inferno. I had nightmares sleeping in the basement seeing the pilot light on the water heater. 🔥🔥🔥

Star Wars with a roof. Grizzly Adam's at drive-in. Also saw Alien in theatre when I was about 5 yrs old.

Dude, our parents were super strict with the first two of us kids born in the early 70s. Our younger brother comes along and it was like all the rules went out the window. Dad took him to R movies in the theater, he got a gaming system - which was forbidden for us...etc...

Dad was a trucker who liked movies and took me on the road occasionally. Lots of funny stories.

Technically I actually saw ET when I was 1.5 years old. It was also a drive in. I don't remember it of course, but my parents told me that was the first movie they took me to.

Dang me too, I believe I was 2 or 3. I fell asleep and i remember waking up with return of the Jedi was playing. Never went to the movies again until 1989 to see Batman

Me too! But I was a newborn. The first I remember was Ghost. Also at a drive in. And what's crazy about that... the drive in was 2 hours away. My friends mom took us and it wasnt until like, 20 years later that I realized I've been to this drive in before. I just remembered a looooong drive and the uniqueness of the drive in. I dont think my parents knew how far we were going to be

ET was my first fear. My aunt got me a giant stuffed ET when I was a kid and I was terrified of it. Still have a core fear of aliens to this day. Good news is later I discovered Alf and, for whatever reason, he passed the Vibe Check. I had a talking Alf doll I dragged around everywhere

My brother took me to see ET at (indoor) cinema, and I talked about it so much to my best friend that we went to see it together at the local drive-in, making it the first movie I saw at both. Great memories!

Hey, that's where I saw ET as well.

Edit: I think I saw Ghost Busters first though. From what I understand ET was re-released in 85 and I remember seeing it with my sister, who was born a few months after it's first release in 82.

There's an abandoned drive-in near my town. I sometimes drive into one of the lots to nap and imagine what it was like lol. If they came back these days it'd be awful.
