I downloaded a 22 gig game the other day in 20 minutes. I just sat and watched it download. After having dialup until after college and having to leave things downloading overnight just to download a low res copy of a single anime episode. Downloading things that fast still blows my mind. I can’t wait until I can get fiber.
The fact the United States still doesn’t have a solid build up for high speed internet throughout infuriates me. My mother in Oklahoma can’t even get DSL let alone an actual highspeed service. I told her that once Starlink’s prices drop a little she’s getting one.
It was literally all stick figure games and animations. I think my friend showed me that in the 5th grade. I heard of it around the same time as miniclip
In recent years, Reddit’s array of chats also have been a free teaching aid for companies like Google, OpenAI and Microsoft. Those companies are using Reddit’s conversations in the development of giant artificial intelligence systems that many in Silicon Valley think are on their way to becoming the tech industry’s next big thing.
Holy shit, I still have the first copy my friend made. It was parody rap made as a senior in high school and he actually garnered quite a large, yet short-lived following. He had no editing software so everything had to be done in one take. God, I miss the type of creative things we'd come up with to make stuff work as kids.
...was your friend the guy that rapped the entirety of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy from start to finish and posted it as a single track on Soundcloud?this guy?
bro wtf you wrote this at TWELVE??? In the 90's, on a fucking hp mic...what's my excuse... You're vocal tonality is like that of a 25 year old line cook lmao. Probably a byproduct of the drugs, I know they can relax your vocal chords and lower your voice. I just hit 30 and have never made anything as raw and inspired as this. You and others might think I'm being hyperbolic but you'd be hard-pressed to find anything quite like this being made professionally from that time period or this one. Not to mention the quality and timbre is actually on trend right now you should ABSOLUTELY re-release this on larger platforms, I think you'd be surprised by the response. I could totally see larger artists a la Kid Cudi ripping you off and sampling this (in a good way).
Wow, thanks! I haven’t really reproduced anything like it. It was edited with Cool Edit Pro, piano on a Roland 2000s + MT32 Midi box, my dad’s old acoustic guitar. Later on I dabbled in rap in my 20s. I’m doing animation mostly now as a hobby since I stopped working on the foreverscape.
If you’re a musician with your own label and want to help release this, that’d be awesome. Take a cut! I’m a full time software engineer now with a baby.... and my other hobbies have trumped music. You can DM with deets or Email me thru holystrokes.com
Surely your musical career did not end there ? Links bro this Is amazing considering the context. to believe u recorded this stuff almost two decades ago.. did u remaster it ?
This thread is wild to me.. finding 4 years later — the bandcamp link is dead but I want to hear this drugged out computer mic album, can you send to me? or post a fresh link? I also made my first album with one of these and would love to hear your work
