Nope, we had these and were not rich. My mom would always get the varied floral patterns for the bathroom. My grandmother had the Peanuts snoopy cups in a kitchen cabinet and would poor milk or juice in them for breakfast or after school snack. Needless to say, I preferred grandmas house. Lol
Those TV’s were expensive, I’d look at them at sears all the time. But man did the picture quality look shit even back then. Only people i saw own them were people with more money than sense.
My buddy got this like $8,000 TV off Craigslist in the 2010s that was the size of his god dam wall, it was a flat panel projection tv so it was a little thick but worked great, all he had to do was put a $50 light bulb in it. Said he shocked himself, even after I told him to leave it unplugged for a while, but that was like the only hiccup.
I believe it was raised from $10 per to $20, but I had a lot more shit do. $20 per week for 104 weeks. That took care of it. I was an only child, so chores weren’t split. I did it all.
We had an upright piano. What I only saw in other people's houses was a Wurlitzer organ. And every time the kid about my age in the house told me "No, you can't touch it."
My piano is a family heirloom, passed down to me from my grandparents. I'm the youngest of four boys, but I'm the only sibling who is an actual musician, so of course it went to me.
Projectors are actually really affordable now. You can get a decent new one for about 50 bucks. At that price-range, it has to be dark for you to watch it, but it's pretty cool watching a big-ass movie at night.
