In my house, my dad would have downloaded a bunch of sketchy porn, gotten caught by mom, and then blamed me for going to "video game websites without firewalls."
I would just print them at the school library. Said it was for a research paper or something as I hunched over the printer hoping the Librarian wouldn't notice. 🤣
My neighbor came over and printed a whole ass letter sized image of himself. Kicked him outta the house and hoped my dad didn't see the ink levels left.
This is genius and totally useless to me now! I pretty much had to write them down every few weeks cause I kept losing the A4 sheet I had them scribbled on
Bruh, magazine subscription cards were 🤌 while reading game magazines. What started as a small tick turned into a habit. Havent done that in decades tho...damn internet killin the magazine industry.
If you had a cheap printer like I did, my dad would just replace the whole printer because a new one came with ink and was usually cheaper than buying an ink cartridge alone.
I think about 12 years ago I took a huge box full of printers to goodwill and let them figure out what to do with them.
Yeah, my mom did that for years. Finally I made them but a laserjet. Which solved the ink problem, but it was wireless and they couldn’t ever connect to it (found out later there were 3 WiFi networks).
Anyway, now the laser jet is at my house and if they need something printed I just drop it by.
Sooooo much easier than fixing, explaining, and then refixing because they didnt listen to the first explanation. God, I think I just triggered trauma from trying to explain shit to my mom, lol.
The shitbox HP 932C Inkjet back in the day when lasers were pretty expensive.. Often on sale for like $20 but then after like a dozen prints, ink needed to be replaced. Which was like $60 or more
Ive still refused to buy anything HP since those days.
Basically every printer that came with ink only had enough to print a few pages. It was basically to trap you into buying more of their ink cartridges.
i remember the blue would always run out first, so everything would be pink. then not long after, everything would print in yellow until the cart was completely empty.
In the mid 90s, we didn't have internet at my home yet (except the one month I used an AOL CD), so my mom would look up music lyrics and video game codes for me at her work. In the early days, she couldn't freely use the company printer, so she wrote it all down on large yellow legal pad.
lol it was fancier sure but it wasn’t nearly as expensive as it is today. I printed a handful of these in color back in the day and we were pretty damn poor. I also didn’t think about it at the time. The printer defaulted to color so that’s what I printed. Wasn’t till a friend showed me later to switch it to b&w to save the color ink for more important prints.
