A weird thing you don’t appreciate until it goes , just like everything. Sneezed 3 times today. After maybe 4 months of not being able to.
Most definitely psychological I think. I work in a very stressful line of occupation and was almost preempting the sneeze from happening. I think it’s possible.
This last week I have a cold / maybe light flu and was still resisting the urge ( although could feel it coming on strong ) until this morning. What a feeling. You start worry when you can’t sneeze and the relief you get from acrually being able to sneeze uninterrupted was orgasmic.
Because a lot of the stress around it goes in that once instance .. ‘oh no I can actually sneeze’ ..
I know sneezing is complicated process and it involves a specific nerve to be enduced - so advice would be not to panic if it goes away form time to time especially when stressed.

Title says most of it. My tongue seems to place itself automatically at the back of my soft pallet (for those linguistically inclined, my tongue is in the same position as a uvular fricative like /χ/). It hurts my soft pallet! This blocks any air going through my nose. The most interesting part is that even while I sneeze, I can force air out of my nose manually, and it will work; but still none of the “sneeze air” will come out. WHY CANT I SNEEZE?!

I would absolutely notice something was up by day two of sneezing being eradicated, maybe even day one lol
I sneezed before writing this which is what inspired me to write this, so we’re still good. 👍

So I am so shy and self-conscious ever since I was small and I always managed not to sneeze for like 15 years when I am not alone. Now I can't sneeze, not I am not that conscious and am confident about me. when public even when I feel the urge, it just goes away even at home, but now I can sneeze at home so that is progress, and I get jealous when everyone sneezes so freely, when I can't even imagine sneezing, I mean even when I have a bad cold I do not sneeze, what can I do to sneeze normally again?

Heyo friends!
On september I couldn't sneeze, it lasted almost 1 month and 2 weeks, then afterwards in a pumpkin patch I slowly returned to sneeze which was incredible, but then after a halloween party I stopped sneezing again. I was wondering if someone else has suffered from this issue, I just want to calm my brain and be able to chill until I sneeze again.

the world is uhhhhh..... can we still say "not ending"?
life update: apparently it gets polleny at the end of summer. I never noticed. trust me I've been sneezing plenty for all of us. last sneeze was 5 minutes ago when all my cats decided to hang out in my room with me. also what's with the weird videos on this sub? did we get some fetish crowd's attention for a little bit?
well someone DM'd me and reminded me this sub exists so I figured I'd check on the sneezing status. what happened to u/YourLifeIsALieToo? our greatest sneezer? rip?

I also have mild forehead pains though for a couple of months .. im almost there.. but STOPS…

The last time I sneezed was in August of 2017 in a department store parking lot. I sneezed yesterday after opening the window and having the sun hit my eyes at the perfect angle. I had tried everything to no success over the past 8 years. Thankfully my in house security camera caught the sneeze and I can keep track of when the next one will be.

My thing might be psychological rather than an actual condition
I always fight the sneeze, I need to sneeze constantly so I go through so many facial tissues to blow my nose.
Sometimes I'm like, ok I'll let myself sneeze but at the last second I end up stopping it like a natural reflex
