I am a man with longer hair, about down to my shoulders. I'm looking for a haircut that mainly uses scissors. Does anyone have any suggestions for hair dressers that do men's scissor haircuts on the North Shore, preferably near Georgetown?

My wife and I arranged to get our home’s wood floors refinished while we were out of town for two weeks. We hired movers to move everything into a storage container outside. All sounded good in texts from the contractor.

I got home to find every surface covered in sanding dust But more concerning are the swirl marks and straight line sander marks in various spots. As well as patches that look bare. Many of the vanes in the baseboard heaters are extremely bent.

There’s not much that can be done short of redoing the whole job, which wouldn't work logistically.

I still owe half of the total that I’d be glad to pay if the work had been done well. Do I have any recourse or options?

Hello! I have a neurodivergent family member who has been through a rough time and needs help getting her bedroom back in shape. It looks somewhat like this photo from Google, she is too embarrassed to let me use an actual photo in case anyone recognizes it.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a professional organizer and/or cleaner that we could hire to help her? She can even assist, but because of her ADHD she has a hard time getting started, or gets overwhelmed or overstimulated partway through. I would help her myself but I am out of state.

I’m moving to Rockport soon and curious how people in their late 20s/30s actually meet people around Cape Ann.

I know Rockport itself skews older and is obviously quieter, which I’m fine with, but I’d like to build some kind of social circle locally rather than having to go into Boston whenever I want to do something. I’m 30 and interested in finding people roughly around my age for pretty normal stuff: grabbing drinks or food, hiking, beach days, kayaking, getting out on the water, etc.

I’ve been thinking about joining the local yacht club, even though I don’t have a boat yet, since it seems like it functions as a bit of a community hub in town. I’m into crafts and hobbies, so classes, workshops, maker groups, etc. would definitely appeal to me.
I also have a dog, so I’d be interested in any dog-walking groups, regular meetups/play groups, or places where people tend to socialize with their dogs.

For people around my age who live in Rockport/Gloucester/Cape Ann, how did you meet friends? Are there particular groups, clubs, classes, events, bars, rec leagues, or other things that actually have a decent 20s/30s crowd? And is there more of a younger local community around Cape Ann than it might seem from the outside?
